I'm most familiar with Tommy's work as a fingerstyle player using that Maton of his, which of course, I'm continually blown away by. Now, we have him playing wonderful rhythm, on what looks to be a Martin OM: Refreshing and inspirational. I'm also a long time Garcia And Grisman fan. So yeah, once you connect with the Grateful Dead fans you get some of the most well rounded and allegiant fans. I'm over the moon with this collaboration. From Bloomington, In and residing in Byron Bay.

@@wfmetts: Pretty simple, actually. The lick goes for 3 bars. He plays a D harmonic minor scale in triplets from the open low E string up to the A on the high e string, as 3 notes per string in order to be able to sweep-pick it, that's 1 1/2 bars right there. Then from the Bb above that A he slides up the e string to the topmost A, while tremoloing with the pick hand, arriving there on count 1 on bar 3. From there it's down the D minor scale to the D in quarter notes. Takes 15 min of practice, it's a very useful (and impressive) lick.
