The shanty-like music (specificaly 2:12) really cements the feeling of Boralus as some seaside town for me. So far Kul'tiras' music is some of the best produced by Blizz.

Saw on Wowhead's Kul Tiran guide that this portion of the KT music is heavily influenced by a real sea shanty called "Roll the Old Chariot". Here is a link to the a video of a group of people in New Hampshire singing it. It's literally the exact same song. kzbin.info/www/bejne/amqpiKNtjLGMgdk The vocals to the song at 4:18 make this song even more like the original and therefore more awesome .

It was definitely very good. Like the reminder how great the Eredar/Draenei civilization once was.

When I was at Blizzcon and wandered to the Dark Moon Faire, David Arkenstone (I recognized him with his long hair n all) was playing with a bunch of bandmates and was playing the song played at 2:12 - 2:15 It was so wonderful to listen to it live as they played it faster and faster like you would at a traditional dance One of those moments where I should've totally recorded it

*KZbin recommending me this video* "Oh hey, I still remember this theme vividly as if it was yesterd- WHAT DO YOU MEAN 6 YEARS AGO?" Gosh. I still remember concluding my main character's RP arc in Boralus' tavern, shortly after the end of the 4th War. Time flies.

Sounds like it could provide some fun background music for RP there :)

Gotta appreciate that Blizz at least knows who to go to for medieval-ish tavern music. David Arkenstone’s been holding down the fort for decades. (Along with others of course but WOW he’s done so many tracks for the taverns and the game at large!)

I have his Spirit of Ireland cd... some of my favorite rp characters' themes came from that cd...
Tirion and the argent crusade would have been so proud od them.(or not). :)

My favorite tavern song ever. I also want to know if there is a similar irish tune. I am not irish btw
@davenonnenberg6 ай бұрын
@@fotis7312 that's the trick with music from that area. The tune can be Irish, English, Scottish, or even German, yet it is known by all 4. Look up a song called the Twa Corbies fir an example of this: in Germany it's the Three Ravens. Same tune, very different lyrics.
