Way to get to action and take care of the problem - damn 500+ pounds! The old lady, "do you mind if I take a picture of this?" ha - meeting people along travels is the best. Glad you got it squared away. Sub'd!

Hey brother it's good seeing a video of the truck in action. Hate that you had a tire blow. Glad that you got it changed.

go to a heavy truck tire shop and ask them who sells the tire bars they use for the big trucks and buy three. outstanding job doing the change over with what ya had for tools. do you not run air tools off your truck air supply ? also get a heavy 3ft or 4ft breakers bar and use only 6 point inpact socket for your lugs. keep a shot piece of pipe 3 or 4ft to slip over the breaker bar for more force

Thanks for the video. It's a lot of work, that's for sure. I have used a flat garden shovel/spade. It helps to lift and lower the tire onto the lugs, slide the tire in and out of position, as well as you can rotate the tire a little to line up the lugs.

That’s a great idea! Now that you say it I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it done that way. Another tool to add. 👍

I agree, i learned a lot from the experience so that’s a big plus.

Been there, I wouldn’t wish this on anyone solo. I did three tires in one day. Two I had to redo because I didn’t clean the O-rings. I also broke two breaker bars. Now I run a air impact off of the trailer break port, a fixed position 3/4” solid breaker bar without the swivel head, a pipe to extend the handle, a short piece of PVC pipe to rotate the wheel ( imagine a circus bear walking on a ball … lol ) and a Shovel to help me get the tire on the Lugs. Oh and a digital torque wrench so I know for sure I’m at 450 foot pounds. All that stuff plus a back brace lives in my tire changing kit now.

Why would you not have a tire already mounted on a wheel?

How much $ did you save not calling for service?
@chadleadbetter6 ай бұрын
I would guess it would be close to $1k to have a service truck come out. Maybe a little less. What do you think?
