I agree with those that say they use microfiber applicators. Been using them for dressings for almost a decade. They check off all the marks for my need. 😊😊😊

I bought the small brush from Amazon last year for 10 bucks. Love that brush. Easy to control and do those edges near the rim. The holder is nice to have to. Try it, I think you'll like it, especially on low profile tires. My truck tires I prefer the big black foam applicator. Great video on applicators and product.

It simply works and doesn’t slime up your hands 🙌. Brushes are used at the automatic car washes in NYC since late 80s they dunk a paint brush into cheap silicone and slop it on tires causing a mess then owners wonder what the stains are on their paint panels lol

Giulia Quadrifoglio NRING owner here. Have you tried the Dura-Dressing? I’m done with tire dressings now! I did a very thorough cleaning, and let the tires dry completely. Dressed the tires over a couple days and this stuff works great for me! Tires don’t attract dirt due to a sticky dressing anymore. Wash the tires just like the car finish. Touch them up every few months! You need to do a review of this product!

The applicator I like the best at least for my tires are the curved ones that are contoured to the sidewall of the tire plus the sharp edge of the applicator to prevent the product from getting onto the wheel.

I've found that solvents in some dressings can dissolve the adhesive that holds the foam to the plastic handle, especially for the cheaper curved type of applicators.

100% yes i still preach not to use solvent based products as many stain and turn sidewalls brown. Water based products seem more popular these days.

That is one beautiful automobile Phil. You are a lucky man to own one of the Mercedes Benz AMG GT's in that incredible "Green Beast of Hell" paint. In regards to the Obsessed Garage brush, could you simply cut about half the bristles off of that brush to try and make the bristles a little bit stiffer? Similar to what we used to do with paint brushes years ago before all these fancy brushes were available? I have always had pretty good luck with those hexagon foam pucks that have the grip on them that you show. I also have that extended lip on my sports cars tires and I hate trying to get them dressed properly and evenly although the pucks do an ok job if you turn them sideways. I've never been a fan of using a brush to put on dressing, but as you say, its a lot of personal preference. My current dressing is CarPro Darkside gel. It works pretty well and gives good durability.

Great video that is helpful to everyone. I use a contoured stiff foam applicator. It covers well and the edge allows me to get close to the wheel. It's almost inevitable that you get a small amount on the rim here & there. What happened to your red Giulia as this video has a white one? I loved your red one. More vibrant & shinny than the white.

@autofanaticcars9 ай бұрын
You can clean them using APC and water on occasion but I usually buy a 2-4 pack and they last quite a while. If you use any solvent based dressing that does soften and deteriorate the foam quickly

I find myself using wedge shaped microfiber or wedge shaped scrub-ninja applicators depending on tire dressings. If I use Carpro Darkside, I like the scrub-ninja style, but with most others I like the microfiber. None of our vehicles have large knobs on the side of the tires, which I can see the advantages of using a brush.

The problem is that with a lot of these big brushes/sponges applicators the product goes on the edges of the rims that is the worst thing that should happen because most of the products for tyres are sticky so that makes the brake pads dust stik on the rims where the products goes...

@autofanaticcars9 ай бұрын
@nicknassar9173 Hey Nick thanks for stopping over to check the video. I have tested the OG brush many ways before making this video even holding the bristles trying to cut in the tire guard edge but my hands got wrecked as a brush should not be used this way with a handle which is why I did not show or promote this technique. As an artist for 40 years I never painted on a wall or canvas holding the bristles to do detail work if you use the right style brush and bristle density. The concave edge is the shortcoming of most brushes and foam applicators for tires i feel as I highlight in the video. I also think with any applicator foam, brush or microfiber the end user really does not want to get anything on their hands or have to wear a glove all the time as some dressings can be hard to wash off your hands. I will check out the video when you guys post it.
