An even simpler tool can be made from a nylon drywall screw holder - the kind with a pointed tab on the end and threads around the edge. I was able to saw a notch in the starter tab inside of one minute. I gripped the plastic tool with pliers around the threads and it easily extracted and replaced my Schrader Valve. I hope this helps, as hacksawing hardened metal is no f'ing fun!

Good idea to repurpose a key you don't need anymore while saving the cost of a valve tool. Also a cotter pin can sub for a valve tool if you're in a pinch.

If you can't make that tool you can find one tool on some car valve covers in the 5th wheel in the trunk,hope I helped

Cut a small piece of copper wire that I keep to make soldering iron tips and dremeled the crap out of middle of the copper wire. Used a needle nose pliers on the other end of the copper wire to twist the valve stem. It worked like a charm.

Sir, somehow only my right front and right rear’s valve stem core are shorter compare to left ones after changing new wheels. So it’s very hard to check air pressure with my gauge since valve stem cores are shorter and gauge cannot touch (or push) the core... How can i resolve this issue?!
@gr8dvd2 жыл бұрын
Valve stem cores are likely not shorter but just screwed-in more, as in too far making them more recessed & thus less accessible. So back-out to match working (left) valves.
@gr8dvd2 жыл бұрын
Correction: Core doesn’t ‘float’ within valve stem as maybe inferred above… it needs to be tightened-down. Position of core should not be affected by wheel change so perhaps the internals (including spring on center pin) got compromised/damaged during wheel replacement.

You can get the actual valve core tool for about $2 at Walmart or auto part places. Why spend this time and effort making something that you can buy so easily and cheaply? And like others have said, slender tweezers work fine.
