Thank you Yannie. SO many remain 'nap-phobic' even thru and within the lock community. Sigh.... can we even just embrace our hair without jells or so-called silky baby hair which is usually found 'naturally' on out babies.

I’m grateful for my fuzzy and disrespectful hairline. There’s not a gel that can hold it down and it’s survived years of *me* being the disrespectful one. Been using only oil and water for years and have been blessed 🙌🏾

Whew I definitely agree! I do not gel down my clients edges and I tell them that I don't lay edges. I was telling one of my client since locks have become a hair trend ppl do too much with something that should be low maintenance.

My daughter could not phathom how anyone could go a month without washing their hair. She usually wash her sister locks bimonthly. After sharing one of your videos with her, it now gets washed only when she goes to her loctican. I am also washing less frequently. Also retightening less frequently. Thank you! You are a blessing! ☺

I love the sister’s beautiful hair line. I have been following Yannie for three years now, I have used all Yannie’s recommendations to care for my Locs. This video hit home for me because I started putting knots in the thinning end of my Locs instead of just letting them go. I had to laugh at myself when I got to the end of this video, “just let it go”, lol. Love you Yannie, keep up the excellent work and teachings.

1st of all Yannie i have been watching you for years. I dont have any loc issues but i want you to bless my locs in my lifetime. Please! I am 2.5 years in and i started with comb coils on 5 years of natural hair. My hair was bra strap length when i started. Now my locs are past bra strap length on the way to waste length. I get my locs interlocked because i work out 5 days a week. I know you are not traveling but i want to know when you will be back in atlanta. I am so glad you are coming back to Atlanta. We love you Yannie and so glad that you are doing well. This young lady’s locs are so disrespectful.

I'm not loc'd but I've been natural for a year now and at first I was putting gel on my baby hairs and taming me edges. I just recently learned to love the frizzy look. My hair does what it wants to and I appreciate it more for that. Refreshing seeing other natural channels on KZbin embracing the frizz.
@ebbie00743 жыл бұрын
I learn this while being natural with Afro . Mom used to say “how gonna be nappy with slick straight edges “😂 so I stopped doing that. Every now then I may do it but I got tired of being a slave the gel and the hair brush. And using the head band to do a slick puff. I started to get headaches. My hair started to break . Sometimes I may use a little oil and water. Then rub it back with my hands and keep moving.

My hair line is like that to my eyebrows and I gave up 20 years trying to "fix" my edges/hairline. Lol! My mum had traction alopecia from the 70s so growing up on the 90s my sister and I didn't play with our hairline. I shampoo my scalp weekly. I have a sensitive scalp prone to soreness and itching. I usually use a treatment shampoo from my trichologists. I have loose natural hair instead of locs.

Thank you for addressing putting knots in locs. I was guilty. I popped them off during your video. 😊 I've been loc'ing for 20 years (with not one moment of regret). I love my locs! Hello Yanni!!!😄 I have been subscribed to your page for a couple of years now, and all I have to say is THANK YOU/THANK YOU/THANK YOU. Although I have been on my journey for 9 years, I too have been obsessed with neat edges. I started my loc journey wearing headwraps regularly, However, where I live, & in my line of work, headwraps are unacceptable. Dreadlocks are "tolerated" so long as they are "neatly kept". Your videos are the reason why I still have a full head of hair. 😆 Now I find ways to keep my hair covered. I use stretchy head bands, to protect my edges, ditched all the heavy products, tight styles, and relaxed on the washing (a little,😉) and going back to the basics. Water Castor oil, & most importantly, Leaving My Hair The He** Alone! 😂 I too want "Disrespectful" locs 😊😊😊 You Are Appreciated. Stay Blessed. ❤❤❤

Hey Yannie, I wanna reach out and say Thanks for saving my locs. They are not currently disrespectful 😍 but I'm in love with them again. Hi Yannie Thank you so much for this video. My name is Ayanda Mdlalose all the way from South Africa. I would love to know how you neaten her locs without using products? I've grown my locs since 2011, I've styled and twisted my locs and used gel products you name it. I'm at a stage in my life where I want to educate myself on my natural locs, so I've been watching many of your videos in the last 2 days, I'm absorbing so much information you won't believe. My locs are soft and derespectful a term I didn't know. I was also in the habit of picking my locs because I had lint using a safety pin or needle 🙈. It just irritated me seeing it especially from the back. I have decided moving forward to take responsibility and accountability for the state and health of my locs. Never again will I use the term dread with locs🙏. Thank you once again for paying it forward. God bless
