My C5Z has made a slight howling noise with light throttle ever since I bought it. Never affected performance and felt strong. I swapped it out with this Valvoline 75w-140 and noticed an amazing improvement! Enjoy.

It works. I've had a few Vettes with the dreaded howl and new (correct) gear oil fixed it every time.

I have a little 97 Dakota that I use as a daily beater. The ring and pinion is worn, and noisy. But they want $400 for the gears and another 150ish for all the bearings, and seals that I'd end up replacing since I'd have it apart. I only payed 1000 for the truck so there's no chance I'm gonna put that much into it. Instead I'll try this and see if I can limp it along for a bit longer. 🤞

Mark, This video was perfect timing for me. I had a very strange noise coming from the rear end of my automatic. I used this product and all the noise is completely gone! By the way, one of the bullet points on the back of the bag actual states Friction Modifier. So we are good! Tip: I used a short clear hose to help feed the gear oil into the rear diff.

I put the heavy weight amsoil in my c5 6 speed. It really knocked down the whine a lot. On a side note, I looked at 6 different manual c5’s from 38k to 115k miles when I bought mine and they all had some form of whine in them.

I'm tired of this new ticking and misfiring my Z started doing. I pray that it's just scorched plug wires and coil packs from the long tube headers, but we'll see. About to pull the transmission and build + throw a twin disc on, I'll try this in the diff too!

Mine just rolled 61k miles, so it's time for a change. I'm going with a different brand, but they offer the same bag tech for fills. I always despised the pump and tube. You did sound deadening for the interior, but any problems with heat from the exhaust and trans tunnel? I have seen the reflective kits for heat from the trans tunnel. Any thoughts if it is a good option if I'm going with sound absorber also?

Mine was doing that terribly. This definitely helped. Not 100% better. But around 70% quieter

Have same thing on my fresh rear end to. Yukon reccomend i use 90w unlike factory reccomended 140w. Has quite the noise when letting off for jusy a split second then goes awya

I wonder if Slip Differential Additive is the same as Friction Modifier Additive? Were the flex bags really helpful adding in this tight area?

Thats a good question. The bags were a game changer. I was able to add the fluid with the car on the ground. You might spill a little trying to get the nozzle in the fill hole but that's just because you are upside and its awkward to get your bearings for a moment.
