Ya except the fact cruise control definitely doesn't give you better gas mileage. It's not even close, every time your cruise control speeds up it floors the gas pedal. There's absolutely no feathering of the gas pedal when it comes to cruise control.

A big plus of the featured VioFo dashcam is it has no battery just a capacitor. Batteries don't do well in the sun when mounted on a windshield. They overheat , swell and leak. I've been using several Viofo dashcams for more than 5 years , totally trouble free. Great product.

for little flashlights, Milwaukee makes a flashlight with a rubber end for holding it with your teeth. Now for a non tech, it sounds screwy to hold a flashlight with your teeth, but many techs do this. The head lamps often point in the wrong direction and the head flood lamps just don't cover detail work. The magnetic ones are always falling and need adjusting just at the wrong time. A light in your mouth can be pointed right where you need it. Milwaukee 2105 penlight; great product and if you got a penlight in your mouth there's no more room for your foot.

Completely agree regarding the Dashcam. I bought one after a woman ran a red light, and T-boned me. No dash cam at the time, and I had to go through court proceedings to prove she ran the red light. In the end, I was given the decision, but the hassle I went through was, very stressful. After having the Dashcam, it saved me on several claims. It easily paid for itself.

Actually you will always always get worse mileage while using Cruise Control. It's because it's constantly speeding up and slowing down over and over and over again. When you control the throttle yourself, you're often using a constant pressure with the throttle (if you actually know how to drive that is) and you're not braking constantly like modern cruise control systems to maintain a target speed and distance to vehicle (which is handy on long straight roads. I've tested this info with older and brand new vehicles, and so have countless others. Cruise Control is convenient, and you only lose a few mpgs, but using your foot is better (and safer, in case you need to avoid a hazard in a fraction of a second) for outright mpgs and will always keep you more alert while driving.

Something to watch out for on the smaller lithium type batteries ( little bigger then your hand ) with the miniature set of jumper clamps included. Since made to jump your car (fairly strong drain when your car battery is low), it doesn’t power small low draw items very well, like a little LED light or small personal fan. The draw is too small on those ( using the 5v micro usb plug ) and it powers itself off. So if you want to use smaller items good to check for this “ feature “ ( auto-off ) or look for a manual off, manual on. Cause of this, I didn’t use it much (thus didn’t charge it up much ) and it didn’t last near as long as it should have.

So far this A129 VIOFO daul dashcam works Great, Installed one in the new 2020 car, The only complaint I have with it is FM radio signals get weak from having the rear camera hooked up looking through the rear view window glass where the radio antenna is located in the glass, I guess most new cars have the shark fin antenna now, Just using the front camera takes care of this problem, But most of the time we use the bluetooth link for Music and other content anyways making it not a big deal, The passenger likes to playing Scotty videos etc while doing a Road trip as well anyways 😎👍 . O and remember if you want to Zoom in on a license plate just screen shot the paused image then ZOOM in and read it, Works Great.

My Chevy Metro got is first carbon clean with 505 Cro at 274,000 miles. Before the carbon clean, I had to use 89 octane to keep it from detonating in the summertime. After the carbon clean I can use 87 again.

Prices are set by consumer demand. So the refrigerant isn't really a rip-off. I'm guessing a lack of demand on new, expensive vehicles exists, because many people get the a/c recharged at a Jiffy Lube type place. As a result, the can just has to be cheaper than a service place charges to sell it. Most likely, service places are up charging on the newer refrigerant claiming it's better and more expensive, which causes the high price to tickle down for DIY people.

Scotty, I was under the impression that the only correct way to replace refrigerant is to evacuate the system and have new refrigerant installed. The reason for this, to my understanding, is that lighter weight refrigerant molecules are more likely to evaporate wit the effect that heavier molecules remain and affects the efficiency of the system. Also, fresh new refrigerant includes new lubricants so your AC pump will last as long as possible. I’d like to hear your thoughts on this.

I have a 07 lexus and i noticed occasionally, there was a strong smell of gasoline coming from the engine compartment when the car was first started. I suspected fuel injectors were not spraying correctly. A month ago I used bernie's fuel cleaner, and haven't noticed that smell since, and I think the gas mileage may have improved a very slight amount. Not enough to crow about, but I do believe the fuel injectors benefitted.

just would like to thank you for the information on the ats 505 fuel treatment / haven't added the oil treatment as of yet. I have a 2015 F250 Diesel truck. , 115,000 miles. I had ordered the 505 product and just before it arrived I had the check engine light come up on the truck. Added the fuel treatment to the pick up on a full tank of fuel, right at 1 /4 tank of fuel used the check engine light went out. Totally did not expect that kind of result, but no question better power as well. Many thanks for the recomendation. Steve

I am still surprised that even at 70-80 mph on flat roads I can still get 38+ MPG on my newer Camry (which is the 4 cyl version). Going below 70 yields 40+ MPG (and this is also a non-hybrid Camry) but will usually result in a line of people behind you on the freeway as the speed limit is 70 but everyone goes 75-80 including the cops. I think one of the best flashlights I ever had was one that was about the length of a pen, maybe 1" in diameter, held 2 AA batteries, had a solid LED strip and was magnetic, and only cost about $10. The clip was magnetic so you could put it anywhere and see what you were doing and it was very bright having the solid 2" LED strip (not just small LED bulbs but a solid LED "strip" not these tiny little LED bulbs that don't put out that much or uneven brightness). Need to find another one like that as the clip did break off eventually (after a few years). Yeah that battery on that flightlight looks like a CR123 which is becoming more common it seems. I have an Energizer LED light that uses 2 of those CR123 batteries.

2.5 semi direct injected enigne + the 8 speed aisin transmission made the Camry more fuel efficient than a Hyundai Accent with the 1.4l engine. This car is a bargain and it drives so much better than any car in it's segment.

Scotty, my dealerships recommended a Mopar oil & gas additive to my oil during the last oil change, instead of the 5K synthetic oil I usually have them put in. They said that Ram will warrantee $2K on engine repairs. I'm not sure about this as you always recommend synthetic. We change every 5K and have 41K on our promaster 3500 van (which we self converted to an rv ). We want to make the van go 150-200K mileage because of all the work we did on the van, and we're seniors. The van is our baby :-) second home. Thanks. Your UT are GREAT!!! Many thanks. Hi Scotty, we have 2013 Prius, have had 3 Priu's since 05 and love that I have clean driving record and enjoy pretty good mileage if i keep my foot out of it! Anyway a cpl questions for your expertise 1) vehicle has death rattle when starting vehicle after it sits for a few days ( started when we switched to Kirkland Oil! Switched back to Mobile and was fine for about 4,000 miles, level still full) ( we have heard possible head gasket 2 years ago when we started researching this, Idk, but doesn't make sense to be! also oil is clean and antifreeze is clean! Praise The Lord) 2) when cruising vehicle runs fine ,but stuck in traffic for log periods of time or toodling around slowly admiring Christmas decorations and such vehicle starts detonating ! I put new Quality NGK plugs in it 6 mos ago, about 8,000 miles ago, vehicle has both issues still! Could this be dirty EGR or ?? even oxygen sensor? There is no Maint Required light or other on! Mi

As an automotive professional I can tell you that AC systems recharged with an Autozone kit are almost never recharged to the factory specified level. The gauge doesn't really help much because of multiple variables such as: Outside temperature, humidity, sun load on the vehicle, exact idle speed, system design.... The only way to have the correct level guaranteed is to the evacuate the system into an AC machine and refill per factory specified weight.

Got a question for you, I bought the ATP AT-205 I have a 250K 07 Infiniti G35X with a slight drip of oil, I just change the oil with new synthetic which I've always used, at what point should I be putting the reseal in now or before I change the oil next time? Thank you sir , it's a pleasure to watch you work!

My friend was coming up on a line of parked cars and someone pulled over at the head of that line suddenly pulled a hard left and gunned it. They wrecked her new car and told the police that she passed them on the left, on the other side of the double line. The cop believed the guy until I recovered her dash cam footage and showed him. It clearly showed she was in her lane at a reasonable speed and the guy suddenly rammed her. The cop fixed the report. I once got sued for $50,000 because a local cop, who was angry about handling the accident for the state police, decided to call me at fault for getting rear-ended because he didn't like how I pulled off in the grass and he wanted to believe a hot young lady. But like Scotty said, it could be incriminating. So far they don't demand footage.
@vendingdudes
@vendingdudes 2 жыл бұрын
I don't know how a cop could "demand footage" anyway. It's your personal property to do as you wish (4th amendment, 1st amendment) and you certainly can't be required to incriminate yourself (5th amendment)

7:53 - DASH CAM saves the day! I'm a believer. granddaughter backing out of grocery store parking space. She has the dual lenses. Shows her looking behind, in the mirrors, turning her head before backing out. Shows her completing the 90ldeg. turn and the guy behind her backed into her!!! He's yelling at her, gets HER info and leaves without her getting HIS info ... we decided to make a claim and submitted the video.
