Ol' Bert was a two-timing loser, kudos to his wife for giving him the shock of his career by showing up and getting him canned, most unfortunate that she fought Joanne instead of working together to solve the problem of Bert. And Joanne must've been quite the talent, playing that room at only 21, sad that she got so distraught over Bert and then, what, joined the Busload of Bert Traveling Roadshow in Canada? Maybe but hopefully that was Bert being delusional about his opening acts for the newspaper and it sounds like Bert was willing to say anything for a buck and perhaps his fortunes improved once he stepped up to the plate as Peter Wood. .

I Think she could have deal with him just leaving her or leaving her for a white woman but not a black woman. He could have left her for a dog but not a black woman. Even though we know he did not leave her for this black woman. But just her being black there's too much for this white woman to handle. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Now why do they put her in the mental hospital. Over a fight evidently she got cut on an accident. I don't believe she tried to commit suicide. So we know that's what they used to do to. us and what they're trying to do to us now. If they could Kanye West. 😉 He better watch his back. 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️

Nothing new here just different names and faces but the lesson remains the same of how peoples lives get turned upside down when you deal with toxic people with baggage which the wanna be comic was and had, overall he screwed over both of their lives and yes Cecilia was racist and to this day that attitude hasn't changed with many when it comes to interracial relations its just not openly expressed much today but it still exists but back then it was even a bigger issue with whites so yes she was infuriated when she found out he was involved with a black woman as well.

Please may I ask a question - please forgive me I am South African and I tried finding the answer on Google but it doesn't help. Why was she called a Negro? Was it acceptable at the time or was it used as a derogatory term? Again I don't mean any disrespect I just always thought it was a derogatory term - do you or anyone have a resource that I can learn from that isn't biased? I love these videos and I apologize for my lack of education on this topic. I know a lot more about South African Apartheid but I want to understand more because I love your videos. Please everyone this is coming from a place of wanting to be educated the right way from people in the culture. I don't mean any offense at all. Most references I found explains African American but not other timelines or they are biased or not from African American authors that understand.
@TisHotMessHistory
@TisHotMessHistory 7 ай бұрын
Your question is understable and to fully answer it requires a long history lesson. What black people have been called in the United States throughout the years has always changed. Some words that were once acceptable became offensive as time moved and language evolved. But around this period, the acceptable terms would have been colored and negro. That being said, you can be sure that anything that his wife said to his girlfriend was not meant to be kind or a compliment!

Why the advertisement for the Johny Taylor video specifically when it was done a year ago? It seems to me that whenever a black man mistreats women black women only want to talk about black men who do it. But if a white man mistreats women black women still have to find a way to put the focus back on a black man. No wonder more and more why predators on the internet are looking at black women as easy prey.
