I love this deep dive! I am a white woman so I will tell you that women in general are pitted against each other but it is definitely more prominent when it comes to women of color. I have spent the past 4 years battling cancer and the damage radiation did to my body....I am finally getting started on the path to repairing my body back to where it was which will take a series of extensive surgeries so this year I am going to focus on healthy living.

Also, not gonna lie: when you started describing the breakdown and eventual divorce of Annie's marriage (and how her husband was greedy and stuff), i outwardly said "Yea, that sounds about St. Louis" lol Thank you for this fantastic video!!

Pitting women against women is damaging. Like you stated - can't we just celebrate all women? BTW - No, I didn't notice the comparison game in the 80's with white women celebrities. It doesn't have to be a contest - we are stronger when we work and celebrate all success! I really enjoy your content. Thank you.

What a wonderful job of telling an amazing woman's story, but telling it in such a way that inspires without tearing down! As a woman in her 40s who immigrated to the United States, I didn't know much about either woman. I also want to thank you for coaxing me to reach out for the stars again... even if my story may not shine as bright as someone elses or had more adversity, it is still mine, and that is something to be proud of. Most of all, thank you for spreading this amazing woman's story and others like it. I am always encouraged by those who not only advocate and lift up but teach us how to lift each other up, as well.

I remember having heard or read about Sarah Breedlove, or Madame C.J. Walker, but not from any supposed documentary. However I do not remember having ever heard of or read about Annie Turnbo Malone. This was a lovely video. I'm very glad to have seen it. I can't help but think that Sarah Breedlove having died so younng (especially so long before the great depression and so much younger than ATM) might have tended to immortalize her. Things aren't always what they seem. Kittyhawk has put North Carolina on the map for doing something first that a New England state in all liklihood beat them to. So I'm glad you didn't make who did what first the emphasis of your video. Very, very nicely done!

Happy new year, Ti! Wishing you and yours the absolute best. I think it’s weird and disrespectful that the most recent movie didn’t represent these women more accurately. The real story is just as entertaining and enlightening as the creative liberties. Not sure why the writers didn’t see it this way. As a teen, I’d heard of Mrs. Malone, but it was more like a small caption. It would’ve been even better if we knew there were two Black women millionaires during that time instead of focusing on one. I mean, come on. I loved the story you did on Madame C.J. Walker’s daughter, especially when you mentioned she was on a ship similar to the Titanic.

WOW!!!!! WOW!!!!! Thank you for sharing this story. This is BETTER THAN NETFLIX. Right now I'm working on my side hustle as a creator. I sew, crochet and make statement earrings. Right now I'm working on consignment with a small boutique in my neighborhood. I'm selling my statement earrings made by my own hands. LOVE IT!!!!! I'm 61 years old and a widow for 3 years. I was married for 30 years. It was good years. My husband Lloyd Wade Clayborne died January 26,2021. He loved that I'm creative. He would show pictures of my creations and sell my earrings. Miss him, but I know he wants me to keep on going. Thank you also bringing up their age when they got started with their business. It's INSPIRATION!!!!!!! Keep up the good work and have a wonderful day 😊 Robin N.Otis-Clayborne
