For my first 1911 I got the Tisas 1911 A1. It’s a full size replica of what was issued to the army. Paid under 450 and it is a great shooter. Very well made and tight. I’ve shot 1911’s costing triple it and they are comparable.

I have 2. The stingray 9mm and the 45acp version...Both are commander models. I like the bobtail cut on the grip frame.. both no fails and very accurate.. the 45 is steel frame and makes it more controllable for me. I put full length guide rods in mine .and now tinkering with recoil springs. Fun stuff.

Had a weird experience with mine. First fifty rounds out of the box didn't go so well, frustrating to say the least . The firing pin stop plate kept sliding down a little causing it to catch on the hammer and jam as it went back into battery. Took it home and broke it down and sure enough the firing pin spring was on backwards and was very loose. I turned it around so that the smaller end of the spring slid on first so that it was tight and snug on the pin and boom now it's functioning without any failures

@@BoomStickTactical absolutely. Definitely for the price point that it's at. I paid about $100 more for my Girsan 1911 ST And I've had to send it back twice for repairs. And they eventually ended up rebuilding the entire gun because it would go half cocked and it would go full auto. After the second repair they didn't want to repair it again the last time I called because it started firing without the grip safety being engaged so the trigger bow was bypassing the notch on the extended beavertail. The notch where the trigger bow engages it, was slightly worn where it would bypass it and the hammer would still drop when the trigger was pulled. So I have to order another extended beavertail and replace that.

Ok i own several tisa's 1911's there are no issues with my ramped barrel stingray pistols 9/and 45 but my other carry by tisas is a 45 bobtail in commander length. This video is spot on with how to make the non ramped barrel tisas reliable. The feed ramp to barrel ramped area on these has an excessive gap where it should be roughly 30thousandths it is more like 80, this causes feed issues with the standard mags. I learned that the sig magazines tilt the rounds at a greater angle giving the bullet a straighter shot at the chamber and solves the hollow point and occasional ball ammo ftf's so if you own one of these, either duty or carry check the gap between the feed ramp and the ramped section of the barrel with the slide locked open, if that gap is large like the one i own is, then order some sig mags and keep just those for that pistol, or if you know what you are doing, mod the feed ramp (angle has to be exact) until the gap is between 30 and 35 thousandths. These pistols also mod easily with drop in match barrels. My stingray carry's group tight, but my regular bobtail (steel frame) isn't nearly as consistent which i hope to change soon enough.

Those sights are fine. You're NOT going to do a single hand slide rack with a Tisas 1911 Stingray Carry like mine. It's hard enough to rack mine with two hands. But it is slick and really shoots well. I should add that mine is a Stingray Carry in 45 ACP and the recoil spring is really stout. I only have 100 rounds through it at this point and it has slicked up nicely. The big thing is it is fun to shoot. The thing I really don't like is looking for the brass. Don't have to do that with my 625 S&W. 😊

As I stated, the problem surfaced almost imediately, it is an injection molding problem. One person wrote they removed the lever and found the detent area was deformed causing it to get stuck! The gentleman wrote he had to file the backside until it functioned, & I could not disassemble mine because the safety was jammed in the up position. So, the slide would not move!!!
