I love how sometimes I return to games at the most opportune moment - and Elite is no exception now. I returned to it after stopping playing at the time of the release of Odyssey, about a couple of days before the creation of nanite torpedoes and the deployment of a full-scale operation to destroy the Thargoid titans. I have a feeling that after we throw them away, the elite will move to a whole new level, this will be a new milestone in gameplay. And yes, regarding the video, the visuals are good, the sound, as always... there are no words.

It was an epic week for Elite Dangerous! Great work to everyone who helped protect humanity! It feels great having my favorite game re-awaken like a sleeping great old one, now back to declare it's glory once again! I have been fighting Thargs since before we could damage them lol.

Was this in Odyssey or the base game? Is the base game still fun if you don't own the expansion?
@lunamaria104829 күн бұрын
@@Slick10836 I think it is just on the PC version. I'm not sure otherwise, because I just play the full game.

@@lunamaria1048 I understand. But I was actually referring to the expansion which allows you to get of the ship and also shoot stuff with your character or walk around stations. I heard that it has lots of problems and poor performance and I was asking if this event is part of the base game or you need to have the expansion for it to trigger.

hmm, may have to dust off my HOTAS and fire up E.D again. I haven't played since Odyssey release. This was impressive though, i still see they nail the sound design \o/ never had complaints with E.D in that regard. Phenomenal. So was this a one time event thing? thanks

Is it a good time for a new player to come in?
@astrnnvАй бұрын
@@rokkrElite dangerous turns ten years old this year. It's hard to say whether it's a good moment or not. The game is technically outdated in some parts. It has gameplay issues, grind, long pauses between big updates. But at the same time it's unique, and in my opinion it's the best in the space sim genre. Where one person will say it's a masterpiece, another person will say it's a cheesy piece of code. One thing I can say for sure, if you like the game - there are a thousand hours of content in it. And if you don't like it, it's a thousand hours of misery.

Sound Engineers nee to stop using sound textures that sound like burping rocks tumbling in slow motion. It's over used, unrealistic and boring as fuck.

Elite’s sound design is the best i’ve ever heard in any game. Don’t know what you’re on bud.
@NurhaalАй бұрын
@raghav1026 I'm going to guess you've had no experiance in sound design what so ever and are just sucking Elites Dick because you're mildly offended by my comment which is not intended to shit on the game, but just critique it, but you're so emotionally attached to your hobby that you can't handle any criticism of your game at all without feeling personally attacked. Get real dude. I criticized a very specific method/sample that they use in not just Elite, but in the industry as a whole. Even in Cinema. Elite isn't that special on sound/art design. It's special on game engine but certainly not on sound/art.

In elite dangerous, sounds in space are generated by the ship inside the cockpit, interpreting the environment for the pilot's convenience. If the enemy destroys the cockpit, the sounds disappear.

The ship's computer converts the signals around the ship to audio for us to hear. Humans as a species are heavily dependent on sound to properly function and coordinate. Humanity has been able to convert electromagnetic spectrum signals to audio since the telegraph in the 1840s, then radio signals to audio in the late 1800s and we discovered interference from space that radios and televisions converted to audio and video from that time to the early 1990s. Modern technology converts EM signals to both audio and visual, for us to hear and see, both for science and entertainment.😁 I guess it is pathetic that you don't know that.😂😂😂😂
