The key to get full range of motion on this by turning the feet outward and keeping the knees out. I put a resistance band around mine and it really made a nice difference . I Slow down the movement significantly and my legs have grown significantly.

Great review. I, too, like the more moderate weight on the press because of past lower back problems. Doesn’t make sense for most to grab a commercial-sized leg press unless they’re lifting for competition.

Watch out for Titans customer service! I regret buying my Titan x3 rack, I spent $3k because I added all the options got the Olympic bar, curl bar weight set extra weights and I had a problem with one of the 16 items I ordered they refused to pay the $34.98 in return shipping! After spending that much and to receive that kind of customer service I recommend not doing business with them.

I have 2 vertical leg presses got used $100 apiece. And neither are perfect One is body solid that are everywhere. Problem is has stupid pegs like Titan fitness to set height and depth. It is ridiculous have use pegs when going heavy to lock it out. And has no center support on frame to stop wobbly when going heavy. But very comfortable pad and neck Other vertical leg press is body smith, very heavy duty frame can go 675lbs, and has lock out arms not pegs to set depth and height. Does not wobble at all like body solid. But the back pad is horrible kills my back and neck.
@nerychristian
@nerychristian Жыл бұрын
I think it's normal for all machines in that price range. I've been searching for a few days, and all the vertical press machines use pegs. But you don't have to move pegs in order to do the workout. The pegs are just to select a starting height position.

Nice review on the vertical leg press by Titan. The maximum amount of weight to load on that machine is 400 pounds. From what I have been told pressing from the vertical position will not require a lot of weights for an effective workout. Were you able to exhaust your quads performing the conventional sets of 3, 10 reps routine during your workout?
@hybridresistance
@hybridresistance 2 жыл бұрын
I definitely was doing higher reps than 10, but I also wasn't using that much weight. So I can't say that I exhausted my legs in general in 10 reps.
@JoseSuarez-bk3qg
@JoseSuarez-bk3qg 2 жыл бұрын
@@hybridresistance Thanks for responding. I like the idea of having a leg press machine and super setting the workout with the sliding bench trainer. In fact anyone can superset any body part exercise (conventional weight training) with the sliding bench trainer to hit the muscles in all places. Perhaps one day you may want to do a video of conventional strength training and super setting the workout with either the Total Gym or with the ProForm Ultimate Bodywork. That I think would garner a lot of interest and intrigue many who may be on the fence of buying a sliding bench trainer.
@dylano7242
@dylano7242 2 жыл бұрын
If is too easy, do one leg presses . You won't be able press 400lbs per leg. And go slower reps too, that put tension. Many people think they are strong by fast reps , but slow reps they barely move it.
@JoseSuarez-bk3qg
@JoseSuarez-bk3qg 2 жыл бұрын
@@dylano7242 Dylan, I didn’t say it was easy to do. What I said “pressing from a vertical position will not require a lot of weights for an effective work” meaning you don’t need to add a lot of weights when pressing from a vertical position. The ratio from that angle is one to one. For example doing standing barbell presses will not require a whole lot of weights to effectively work out your shoulders. If you are stronger then you add more weights accordingly. The same is true when doing vertical leg presses. 400 lbs is a whole lot of weight as many people who owns that machine will never reach.

I think the bigger issue is the bottom position. As long as you're flexible enough to maximize that hip/knee flexion you should be good. I don't think you'd top it out from extending it. But I can't say for sure.

Personally no, I don't have issues. But it for sure can be hard for some to get into the start position with it fully at the bottom and could potentially flex the lumbar spine at the start. I'd say this machine works best using it once or twice max a week to ensure you're still getting that stimulus and not overdoing the specific movement pattern. I do a lot of sets on this when I'm using it, but I find if I do it too often it can start to arrrevate certain joints (knees, hips).
