Aw. I missed it. Wanted to look in the according direction to see if you can see the explosion from a thousand lightyears out... Well, there are some more chances, I guess...

That’s an interesting thought, though I’m not sure it would be visible outside of the system - i also wonder how it looks from further away in the same system, though we’ve all seemed to get as close as possible to record the meltdown :)

@@CMDR-M I got the idea from someone comparing the explosion to a (super)nova. Not that I would have had high hopes of seeing anything, but you never know until you try... It would definitely be interesting to see if and what you can see from the entrance point of a system (or as close as possible without the star snuffing out anything visible) with the further out Titans...

With the incoming Stargoids, it was possible to see them from further away up to a few systems away even - so it does follow that an explosion this size should be visible at some distance (if not occluded by the nearby planet) if the incoming “wake” was - however, i just don’t think the render tech could support it, at least at this stage, as the explosion is a considerably more complex event with a sequence of visual elements to render - not sure if it would be visible from within the same system in supercruise even… but might be interesting to try on the next one?

@@CMDR-M I think within the system, it should be visible, at least with a computer that can handle full details and such. Across the larger distance, you wouldn't be able to see the full detail, more like a star lighting up and dimming doewn again. Sort of like a supernova or nova look like on earth.
