Looks very good, and I'm loving what I am hearing. For TQ diehards this is what I picked up from the commentary (please add if I missed something): - EA will not have monster charms/crafting material, but it is planned for the full release (hopefully relics come back as well). - EA will not have it but they are still going for enemies to visually carry the loot they drop on death, like in TQ1 (great news). - EA by itself will be at least 12hrs of content, so the full game may end up being pretty meaty if the added acts follow suit (sounds on par with how long TQ1 took to beat especially after act 4-6 were added). - EA will be launching with "at least 3 masteries" (I'm hoping its 4 so the combo potential in EA will be high and I hope the classes are fully finished with no missing/place holder skills). - Ragdoll is tied more to the type of weapon you have and your skills but it will still be a focus like in TQ1. - Its seems all items can drop at any level so no more items locked to low levels like in TQ1. This is potentially a good thing and a bad thing, its good because all unique/legendary items will be viable at any level, but it could be bad because this could lead to high drop rates for very powerful items early on (please have the best loot drops similar to OG TQ and not dropping like candy lol)? - No talk about set items, which were a huge thing in OG TQ (please bring back). - No talk about classic difficulty unlocks like OG TQ (PLEASE bring this back). - No talk of max level or where the EA will cap the player (probably will talk about more closer to release). - It seems the modifiers are unique for each of the skills, so build variation will be out of this world (excellent). - Dungeons will have unguided secrets for those with a keen eye (cool). - No skill/passive is needed to 2 hand weapons like OG TQ (and Grim dawn). - The attribute system is much more build defining them before and the focus seems to be on the armor type you want ( heavy, light, medium), weapon type, and damage type (so even more build variation is possible!) There is many many more aspects I probably missed but these are what popped out at me personally. If the devs read this my main question/take away would be: Is classic difficulties planned to make a return like in TQ1, Grim Dawn, Diablo 2,....etc (for example, killing Surtur in TQ on normal would unlocking epic which adds more bosses, gear,...etc) in the final release? Great commentary overall and I am more confident seeing the devs are definitely listening to players of the OG games, and they seem to have a plan for the final build/release for this game and are not just trowing it in EA with no throught. Keep the communication flowing and I can't wait to hear more and get my hands on it myself!

@@pedroorus8135 100% disagree. Its boring to beat a campaign one time and replying endless soulless Rifts/maps, or any other modern endgame mode. its also boring getting the best items at level one leaving nothing feeling rare/special, like many modern aRPGs. The best part about the higher difficulties is that they act as NG+ modes that ADD more things each playthrough to keep the player interested and still building their characters, with the final diff being the ultimate challenge to put your build to the test. There is a reason D2 is still so played, TQ1, GD,....etc and each one of those games had the classic difficulty mode. To please both player types they can go the TQ1/GD route where the player has the choice to start a level 50-70 character in the final difficulty (skip the entire game) and those that want to experience the JOURNEY of growing their character from nothing to maxed out, can go through all the difficulties the old fashion way. Enough modern aRPGs have the samey boring endgame, and I would prefer a return to form, of course with new ideas to keep each playthrough a fresh experience (new bosses, new side quests, new gear drops,...etc).

My personal opinion Positive points: -The game is aesthetically beautiful, I love the setting and the details, plus there is no single path like in TQ1 but there is more freedom when exploring -The new attribute system looks interesting, but we would have to see to what extent they modify the builds and the importance it has. Negative points: -In terms of playability, the game is still very green, the character moves strangely many times, also the hitboxes of the mobs and the boxes are strange, where the character hits the air. -The interface is a criticism that I read a lot, and it is true that it is very similar to D4, there is a little more work and creativity needed throughout the interface, to offer something different in that section. -THE skill system does not convince me very much, it does not look fun or powerful when applying more points. -The rarity colors in the items are also a highly criticized point and personally I liked the original better. -Much poorer in content than TQ1 or grim dawn, where in those games there was a constellation system, mob fragments to modify items, ARTIFACTS, sanctuaries, dungeons, etc. Conclusion: -I love TQ1, I hope they continue working with love and dedication, and they can't miss the opportunity to offer a better game than its predecessor, since the theme of ancient civilizations has a lot of giant potential and many people in the genre want something different than D4 or poetry. . Make water fx ripple and trail, and splash more visible, wet foot print that fade when walking out of water. Dead body buoyancy/float and or bob in water. Collision with ragdolls on the ground. These are quality of life improvements that add up to make a great game immersive and replay-ability. Now, if it could work like scrolls and runes and whatnot in Last Epoch, where all these things are automatically added to a realm-wide behind-the-scenes storage, then I wouldn't mind at all. All the benefits of having loads of things to collect, none of the downsides. But just thinking about the amount of time and effort I put into sorting and stacking those things in an inventory in TQ1 makes me a little uncomfortable. Actually having to do all that inventory faffing about again, in 2024? It's like having to collect town portal scrolls or not having auto-pickup for gold. Much better if they create a dedicated UI to keep track of them and apply them as desired. Without that, I reckon it leads the gameplay into less action and more inventory management.

I have 400+ hours in TQ1, and will have even more, expectations are sky high for this game, and for a demo, it looks alright. Animations are pretty basic / common (what i mean is it looks like every other ARPG sadly) but everything else looks up to scratch. edit: i know what's was bothering me. Weapons do cleave (good) but the spear animation looks single target despite it should not. Staff and bow was really good. Some thought's i'll write down as I watch: -Please use the TQ1 loot colouring system. Thank you. -Artifacts are needed. -Personally don't like leap skill, as a concept. This doesn't mean i dislike other movement skills -Warfare better have Onslaught & banner or it's not warfare. Rage seems similar, but still. -The skill modification is actually a nice idea -I'm setting on the fence regarding the voice acting. Just put a toggle in, to be able to disable it. Spoonfeeding me my characters reaction is not just weird. -Not sore why deviate from STR/DEX/INT from TQ1, but it seems in broad streaks it's the same , just renamed. -15:00 that spider mechanic was nice. -Ragdolling should be tied to overkill dmg imho, so you can blow away weaker enemies with any weapon or class. Going back in TQ1 from legendary to normal grece and punting satyrs to the moon is just pure fun. -You should not be able to TP back to your corpse, but the nearest portal / well like in TQ1. One of the better features of TQ1. -Gravestones are nice. -19:00 undo until you leave the screen like in TQ1 would be nice, to experiment. -22:50 if barrier is what i think it is, it's dumb. If it's like rune shield from TQ1, it's nice. -Seeing every stat is nice. Good. -24:45 sounds good. But please bring back charms and stuff. Those were really good. -Can we also have AOE pick of gold? Like pressing A in TQ1? ( Iirc it was A and it picked up gold & potions) -Highlights over chest would be nice. Like in TQ1. -Fire staff being on fire is nice. keep at that -28:00 hope those loading screens are not common at all -28:50 we'll have to see, if that works. I don't have much exp with levelled items in ARPGs, but if an item is epic should be unique and not unique on that level. In the discord others have explained how it works, but i'm sitting on the fence so hard with this, it's starting to hurt. -29:30 so.... the 3 tierd difficulty is gone? Could work, to raise word level so it's by proxy the same thing. Raising to your level, is something i don't like at all. Scaling is NEVER a good idea. It's just lazy game design, and i *hate* it in every game. -30:30 SOME quests here and there should drop attribute points and skill points. -31:30 mobs buffing each other is really nice. -36:35 if terrain blocked the channeled ability of the skelly that'd be AMAZING -hahaha potion sound being the classical one is exactly what i wanted to hear -that "boss" (leader) fight was really nice and looked fun -so a rolling "release" / early access. It's not about localization, they didn't just pick a word from the lexicon, brother. From wikipedia: "In Ancient Greek armies, the psiloi (Ancient Greek ψιλοί, singular ψιλός, psilos, literally "bare, stripped") were the light infantry who usually acted as skirmishers and missile troops, and who were distinguished from the armored hoplitai (heavy infantry) by their light weapons and lack of armor." Like we have caps and shoulder pads, a total of 12 slots with the Artifacts when added. B) Add One-Handed Magic Weapon Items : Wands/Scepters/Short Staffs (Like the Caduceus, Hermes staff, More Variety of weapons for Mages and the Ability to Carry a Small Shield). C) Add Off-Hand Magical Items : Two-Handed Magical Lyre 𓏢 /Stone Tablet/Book 📖, (Holding the item in one hand, shooting projectiles from the other, Again More Variety for Mage builds). D) 12 Masteries at end game that are related to Hellenic culture. (12 being a important number in ancient Hellas, the 12 Olympians, the 12 labors of Heracles).

I liked what I saw and hope the game would develop well. Several notes: - Since you have 3 secondary attributes that support two damage types each there likely should be according mastery combinations on release or even in early access that support each of them - Warfare and Finesse for Fitness attribute, Storm and Earth for Resolve and Storm and Nature / Finesse for Cunning. - Please also provide decent support for uncommon Mastery combinations or Masteries that use different damage types. Lightning Dash skill in Storm Mastery in Titan Quest 1 is a good example - it is decently usable even with Warfare and martial Masteries that usually utilize other damage types from Cold and Lightning. - Please consider adding weapon sets to the game. Warrior being able to switch between 1H + shield and 2H weapon, Ranger - between Bow and Daggers and Mage - between Staff and melee weapon could significally improve gameplay and builds. - Like other comments wrote - don't forget to include monster charms, relics and maybe even scrolls again. They were things that set Titan Quest apart from many other ARPG games.

Bright and vibrant sounds great, but then why are the colors so washed out? Are they going for realism? I don't get it. This game has huge potential. Please don't screw it! Edit: The dialog boxes also look a bit too modern, and the icons for skills are too flat and dull. I like the caves though.

You see random animals, like crabs, spiders and other, dropping melee weapons, bows and staves. That will never happen in Titan Quest, where animals don't drop weapons and armors, because animals don't use equipment. Only enemies that wield them will drop them, and they always drop exactly what they use against you. It is obvious from this video that the loot is just random nonsense like in Diablo. It's also disturbing that they've taken away even more of the identity of the original TQ with the color coding system for items, which is also like a Diablo game - rares are yellow instead of green, magic items are blue instead of yellow. Epics have taken the color of the legendary items, which means the actual legendaries will be orange... once again, like in a Diablo game. Even the status bar with the health/mana orbs is a Diablo ripoff. Why? Where is the Titan Quest identity?

5. In-Game Name for Money Currency : Drachma and Orichalcum. A) Instead of gold, which we see in every other game, name the currency Drachma (Δραχμές - ΔΡΧ), more immersive with the environment of TQ2. (Fun Fact, Drachma was the oldest consistently used currency in the world until 2002). B) Obtaining Legendary Orichalcum (Ορείχαλκος - ΟΧΛ) in rare occasions, from special Quests, Unique Gifts, Boss fights, Secret Sacred Hidden points in the world of TQ2. Rare Orichalcum would be for special occasions, for example crafting, sacrifice or buying a unique Items etc. (Orichalcum in mythology, a legendary precious metal that was mentioned by Plato in his work Timaeus and Kritias. Orichalcum was mined from Atlantis as a magical blue-green crystal💎). Thriving for more Immersion and Uniqueness.

28:47 wait, so this means if I find a unique item in say act 1 (idk if there's gonna be acts, that's not the point really) and then I find "the same" unique again in act 3, the latter one will be higher level, ergo (I'm assuming) better? I'm not sure how I feel about this tbqh. For one, this makes earlier parts of the game irrelevant for farming, because everything you can find there will be _strictly weaker_ than stuff in later (higher level) parts. Second, this makes unique drops in early game _feel_ less satisfying. Think about it: you find that nice weapon and it fits your build so well, and you know you should be happy about it, but also lowkey wish you found it a little later so that it had better stats. In short, every unique item found early will feel like a weaker, demo version of this item. I can't see how any of this is fun. You should consider at the very least capping this mechanic, i.e. an item X can spawn in locations with minimum "area level" of 20 but the highest it can go is say 30, so that we know which areas _not to_ go for farming (i.e. only look for it in 30+ lvl spots) in order to get the "proper" version of the item. But even this is kinda bad, cause now we've excluded some fraction of the game world from farming. Still better than excluding the majority of the game except the few last areas, but still bad. Please rethink this mechanic.
@patronautsvirtualworld81553 ай бұрын
If you watch the video carefully you will find out that they address this issue - you will be able to bring earlier areas to your level, good specifically gor farming uniqe items of higher levels. And I think it is much better to have different levels of unique items. It alllows you to use them right away instead of neededing to level up 20 lvls to use them. It is part of the journey to use different weapons and switch along the way. Supports more diversified gameplay and forces you to use and try more items. Keeps the gameplay fresh. But who knows, maybe they will allow to increase the level of weapons by crafting in some way.
@reddmst3 ай бұрын
@@patronautsvirtualworld8155 This "ritual" to up the level of the area doesn't solve the problem #2, with early unique drops being not as satisfying as they could be. Besides, idk, I really liked TQ being different than other arpgs in that it was sorta story driven (as opposed to being mechanics-driven, see D3 or PoE). The idea of "ritual increasing the world level" doesn't really resonate with me. The problem you mention - needing to level up 20 lvls to use a new find - was never present in TQ. I've got 1300+ hours on it (on Steam alone) and found only a handful of items I had to wait to equip (and that was never more than 10 levels). It was just balanced very well. Also I'm not sure if I want to be *forced* (as you put it) to use more items. If uniques are so boring that I don't want to switch, then why not make them interesting instead? Making them artificially weaker (which is what the low-level uniques essentially are) in order to make them last less is a kind of lazy solution IMO.
@cityxxxhunter25203 ай бұрын
This is my biggest fear as well. This could ruin the whole unique item system in my oppinion. This mechanic should definitely be rethought!
@patronautsvirtualworld81553 ай бұрын
Great! Keep up the good work. Visual/sound feedback is important. Definitely include the wysiwyg system of loot as in tq 1 as much as possible. Makes it much more rewarding to get a cool item if you need to actually defeat someone who is using it. Maching item drops to enemies is adviced as well - it just makes sense that a bat would not drop an axe. Less loot drops is not a bad thing, on the contrary droppong many items is annoying and people will filter them anyway. This is the fate of most rarity based item systems, low rarities will be ignored. So either make them usefull in some way (like for crafting) or have a different system for loot.
@patronautsvirtualworld81553 ай бұрын
I forgot to add, that droping gold from every enemy is not necessary either. Sources of gold could be missions, chests or other lootable items, enemies that makes sense to have gold on them (like bandits). Monsters could be a source of gold if there are contracts to collect certain drops from them, or just make it simple and allow selling their drops for gold. A more thoughtful approach here would fit. Again, bats dropping gold does not make much sense.
@Raumschutz3 ай бұрын
Great suggestions. A "What you see is what you get " drop system, at least for humanoid enemies, feels so rewarding!!! And I agree on the monsters. If a huge dragon drops a helmet, it makes sense. He ate an adventurer. But if a boar drops a helmet, makes no sense. A legendary huge boar having a visible spear stuck in it and then dropping that very spear tho -> amazing. There are ways to get creative.

As people have pointed out indirectly through their pleas to have certain small things added/kept in the game such as monsters wearing the armour they drop... The reason TQ1 is timeless is that it was a labour of love, and no effort or detail was spared. With so many unique item sprites, original skill icons, the hand crafted world, the stylised UI, the rich voice overs and sound design... With the gaming markets saturated with copy paste slop (like D4 *sigh*), please don't make that mistake with this game. Take your time, make something unique, but also something true to the feel of the original.

I find that quite an odd take, actually. In the inventory you're holding the axe in a more 'neutral' position, so I guess in my mind I don't know that I'd be holding a massive axe blade turned 'toward' my face lmao It's different when the character is running, it's angled in the direction you're running. But holding it still like that is actually more correct, whatever you think. It's easier to take the axe and actually use it to strike something. Mime it with your hands, if it helps, you'll find holding the axe blade the other way actually means your hands are going different corrections and it feels clumsier. The placement wasn't a goof, or an accident.
@grabeck6663 ай бұрын
@@Blisterdude123 He holds the axe the same way when he is running around... As of the rest what you said. It makes no fkin sense. Axe blade towards your face? What? Easier to strike when you need to adjust your blade before you strike is easier? What? I did almost 10 years of battle reconstructions with all kind of weapons, fought in some tournaments too and chopped fkin wood for like 15 years at home. You ALWAYS hold the axe with the blade away from yourself. And if you want to be very picky, then 1st of all you wouldn't hold 2h axe with both of your hands while idle anyway...

Having the residents interact with their environment, people talking in the Agora, training, gathering olives, wheat🌾, fishing🎣, herding animals, listening to Poems and Stories by Scholar's, praying and children running around etc. (Not having everyone just standing straight, around in a circle not moving looking at nothing, doing nothing, it's Dull, feels Fake). More Movement, More Expressions, More Feeling, More Life in the World of TQ2.

One thing that scares me is that the guy is already full rare items (yellow) even though the player is at the start of the game. I'm afraid they followed the logic of other H&S where we go gorge on legendary and unique barely half the game...
