Good video, thanks! I have these, I got the set on Amazon for $8 a few months ago. I actually really like them, and use them as regular hand drive step-ups, but more often I use them as "mini extensions" when I need just a little length but don't have enough room for a 1" extension, regular steps, or a deep socket (for example, engine bays of course, or installing/removing front seat brackets that are shaped funny and have overhead obstructions/tracks). They have become my go-to step-ups, and the 1/4" and 3/8" always come with me to the junkyard.

I once had an air impact that had a ball detent in the anvil which is a known weak spot..... in essence in the end mine snapped like a carrot right gut through the ball detent itself.... so now I use “hog ring” style anvils.... Isn’t it interesting you never see “hog ring” type retainers on sockets or extensions......

The 3/8 to 1/2 is great for the M12 Stubby or other 3/8 Impacts. Its been proven by the torque test channel that lower profile adapters lose the least amount of torque, and it allows you to use specific 1/2 sockets like Lug nut sockets.

They definitely are a must have for impacts like you said

I got these use with my m18 3/8 compact impact and on oil filter wrench so I can use 3/8 stubby ratchet and so fare they worked good for what I need but most likely I will only use the 3/8 to 1/2

yeah and most of their socket or wrench sets don't skip sizes.

Something interesting to watch since I was awake when the film was posted. I don’t ever see myself using these adapters though.

I’ve broke 2 of the 3/8 to 1/2 adapters while zapping on and off lug nuts in the last month. Coincidently they broke almost exactly 2 weeks apart and the first one was only in use for about two weeks. I wouldn’t recommend these at all because I wasn’t hammering on them and it still snapped.. like in half. Also if you have a friction/hog ring they can get stuck on there and you’ll need penetrating oil if you want to get it off. I thought the first one might’ve broke because I had taken it off that day with penetrating oil and thought maybe some residue allowed it to slip and it caught a weird angle or something funny that caused it to break but the second one wasn’t taken off after it got stuck until it snapped in half. I’ll look again to compare where it broke at because it might have something to do with how it absorbs the impact once it’s stuck onto the friction ring. Bit of a ramble but this video was what made me buy them and I figured my two cents might help people decide if they’re worth it to them.

Question I'm planning to use this with a Milwaukee 3/8 stubby with 250ft of breakaway torque so not too crazy of power. Wondering if you're impact was a mid or high torque variant since I'm not planning to use this with anything with crazy torque mainly wanting the 3/8 to 1/2 adapter. Thanks

I got the 3/8 drive massive bit set from TEKTON I actually like they are all 3/8 and bought the folding ratchet they sell for the kit and to use other 3/8 sockets where I would normally use a 1/4 I highly recommend that folding ratchet from TEKTON to everyone but I have been wanting to buy a 1/4 to 3/8 adapter to use with my mini head 1/4 drive ratchet and I think I can buy just that one at O'Reilly's.

I came for the titan, leaving with the PT. I need a really low profile thumb wheel for a socket, I believe the PT is going to be my best bet. Thanks for showing me something I didn't know existed even if it wasn't what I came looking for lol.

I have this set but I think mine say Cal-Hawk. They are good to use as spinners, just getting a bolt started on the threads in difficult areas.

I have these, and the biggest issue I've had is that they're very difficult to remove from the sockets. Maybe my set is from a different product run.

I was looking for something like this for 1/4 to 3/8 for an air ande electric ratchet to keep the sixe small and 1/4 is pretty small of I have the socket in 1/4

Hi. Newbie here. Is that what you use to put a bit on a very short bolt in a recessed hole? The nut and bolt I’m using with my standard socket set isn’t doing the job - the nut just falls down into the socket so it can’t reach the bolt. I hope that makes sense.
@feyrband Жыл бұрын
You can use a shallow (regular) socket with an extension instead of a deep socket. If even the regular socket is not shallow enough you can maybe use one of those extendable magnetic pickup tools to start the nut first before you put your socket onto it, or you can stuff something (another nut or paper) into your socket so the nut can't fall into it as far

I could have used those on my earthquake stubby 1/2 to run a 1 5/16 socket pulling a steering gear box on a autocar cabover.

Sorta a gripe but I litteraly use my snap on 3/8 in 1/4 body as much as my 3/8 regular so this concept is useful. But ya for most morons it is a ratchet killer.
