Just think of it like this, IT WAS RELEASED AS A FULL GAME WITH NO DAY ONE DLC. I remember it’s launch date because I was hype as hell for this game and was Gen 10 pilot before the second month. If they announce first and they didn’t feel they needed to delay the game, then EA allowing the other games to be announced to put Titanfall 2 into a sandwich fighting not only one of their well established IPs but the well established IP of another competitor when Titanfall 1 didn’t make a immense impact is laughable negligence on EAs part. No matter how you splice it, any competent publisher would have understood the misstep unless they had zero faith in that IP making an impact in the first place (such as EA not respecting the impact of Dead Space). Also seeing as Titanfall 1 didn’t make an impact on par with Halo, I doubt EA gave them nearly as much freedom as we think they did. Let’s not forget EA isn’t well known for their nuance and understanding. EDIT: I meant launch state, not launch date.

11:03 Actually, Vanguard-class titans are fairly new models, most of the imc titans (except monarch) were made before vanguard titans/the campaign. The reason BT is so focused on survivability is that Vanguard class titans are the first class to be made by Militia engineers. Before vanguards, the Militia stole and reprogrammed IMC titans because they didn't have the resources to make their own, but by the events in Titanfall 2, they had enough funding to do just that. The thing is, they can't afford to let their new titans go to waste, so they prioritized quality over quantity and made sure that the vanguard class was the best it could be. The IMC, on the other hand, is uber-rich and can afford to just dump tons of titans on the enemy, so they went for quantity. After the events of titanfall 2, the IMC recognized the effectiveness of the Militia's new titans, so they used a destroyed vanguard chassis (likely BT's original body that was taken apart during the interrogation) and made the monarch, which still wasn't as good as the vanguard class, but was similar in build and made an attempt at being more survival focused. You can see this in the multiplayer because monarch can steal batteries, heal her teammates, replenish shield, and improve herself over time to remain viable in the long-term. I hope I'm not being too critical, I'm enjoying the video a ton!

I know it wasn't ment to be. why said having a popup at the end of the tutorial with some video links of how to do some advanced stuff cause slide hopping was a thing really early on if I learned it in the first year of the game being out then it must have been found months before me. also I think they intended sliding to be used for a speed boost or else the speed boost from sliding slide hopping was a side effect of that cause they new bunny hopping was and is a thing from Titanfall 1 still used in TF2 just it isn't as good as other options which seems intended.

Titanfall 2 is one of few games that legitimately made me cry. When we first thought BT died I was in rage, just like Cooper, and when we got him back it didn't feel the same until we inserted the Data core and heard "Hello, Jack." And the heartbreak of losing him for real at the very end, when I had accepted that BT and Cooper would get to go out together, and was then saved because of BT's protocols. Damn robot made me cry.

Yeah they're basically a mashed together version of other titans and the monarch is supposed to be the cheaper version so it could be used more

They're also unqiue in that they're a new class of Titan, distinct from those in the first game. Titanfall 1 had Atlas, Ogre and Stryder class chassis. The multi-player titans (and the ones you fight in the campaign) are all based on these chassis, Monarch excepted of course. Vanguards on the other hand have their own chassis.

However, we can see how the IMC were unable to properly recreate the vanguard class, because many of the functionalitys the vanguard has at base (such as regenerating shields, an improved chassis, and tracking missile's) are only available through the upgrade core, or by sacrificing the regular shield for the energy transfer thing. They also weren't able to replicate a burst core, which is just smart core but better, instead being confined to optional arc rounds.

The enemy AI is also a criticism as the enemies mostly just stand still out in the open or walk around just shooting at you. No smart behaviors and whatnot. But honestly, for a game like this where you mostly run and gun, that's completely fine.

One of my favorite details: the titan you call and insert BTs core into in the final mission, FS-1041, is the same titan you call in in the first mission that causes the sim pod to glitch. Also, if you want to be extra sad about the ending, dont choose either option and wait out the timer. Instead of Jack reassuring BT with BT staying silent, BT says “Goodye, Jack”, which is the only time BT calls Jack by his first name in the entire campaign.

One of my FAVORITE things (right behind story and movement/gameplay) about this game was the the level themes, they ALL STOOD OUT. They all had such unique identity’s and as long as you explain 1 or 2 major details any pilot knows what level it is.

God this takes me back to my console days. I played this game day one and it has a heavy place in my heart. Good memories of phase shift trick shots and zooming past people. Don't even get me started on the campaign it a beautiful story that genuinely tugged on my heart.

15:14 But wait, the Death From Above mission in COD 4 is supposed to be boring. The prior gameplay's visceral and gritty nature contrasts with the sterile and disconnected display of the AC-130. It horrifyingly deemphasizes the sheer scale of killing you're doing from within the gunner's seat. It's a commentary on aerial bombardment and could even extend to something like drone warfare. It's not supposed to be cool, it's supposed to be disturbing in a "why don't I find this scary" way.

Three things: 1. Good video 2. Cooper’s blinking helmet is actually Morse Code that translates to “Jack?”. This hints that part of BT still exists in Cooper’s helmet, as he mentions during Effect and Cause that he transferred part of himself in Cooper’s helmet due to the time distortions. 3. I do agree that “Death From Above” in Modern Warfare is technically boring from a gameplay perspective, but MW1 doesn’t give you the power of AC-130 to liberate you. It’s meant to make you feel uncomfortable with the level of power you have at the press of a button. The Smart Pistol’s function is to grant the player the full potential of the Pilot. It’s more similar the the Overcharged Gravity Gun from Half Life 2. The AC-130 is meant to make the player uncomfortable just as Shock & Awe is meant to leave the player feeling utterly defeated.
