The thing about monarch is that she is good, versatile titan. However, she seems to only be able to really good against other titans based on her build. The Titans that gives her the most trouble to me are legion and ronin. Legion has a a large enough health pool and can do enough damage to kill you before you can kill him. Ronin and can com bombard you quickly and monarch isn't really fast. Since Ronin gives me the most trouble, i take the missile racks, so when ronin charges me I use the energy siphon to slow him and use the missile rack kit to do so much damage to him and pop smoke and that works really well.

Reid Gilbert Yeah, it's like I said. You basically have to build for certain titans but overall she is good. I don't have problem with tone too much personally unless I'm on an open space. Basically, I try to stay out of her kine of sight, but yes tone can be a problem. I still think Ronin's sheer damage output and his ability to rush you is the biggest problem, with legion closely behind because your only recourse is to get close and use Malestrom or take advantage of his slow movement and reposting to a Better place to fight.

The only reason I think people tend to think she's OP is because that's what the vast majority of people are playing. No matter what, there's always gonna be at least 2-3 monarchs on the enemy team so it might seem like she's OP because of there being so many. She's a pretty fair titan imo and I use the same loadout as you frothy, (racks, maelstrom, and superior chassis)

If it's tvt and the enemy team is all on the other side of the map you can get enough time to get out of doomed state with phase embark, but that just doesn't happen that often and you're better off making sure your shield's are as high as they can be as much as possible.

My favorite core combination for me is core 1 arc rounds, core 2 is faster rearm and reload, and then for core 3 use XO-16 accelerater it makes your primary a Titan melter.

Ability's Weaponry- Brute from Campaign 1- repair node (heals allied titans with ethier a shot of health or a stream like a medi gun in TF2) 2-Jump (this allows the titan to jump with ablitys to dash in air, giving strategic planning and advantages) 3-shild charger (recharges your shilds but makes them less effective to DM over all, Balancing) Core ability- Repair Core (repairs 2000 hp to you and heal target, or heals AOE for 200 per Sec) Kit 2 Enhanced Nano Bots- increases heal rate on allied titans from 200 hp per sec to 300... 10% Hell jumpers- increases jump hight by 12 % Hidden Silo- give the "Brute" an extra missile Halo- Gives an extra heal rate to the repair core by 20% Whatcha think?

Great video man. Never had a single video influence play immediately. Instantly turned my monarch into a behemoth. The smoke alone is a powerhouse. Combined with the double charge and missile racks she is a monster without match.

I've been running the first loadout frothy recommends but instead of missile racks I've been using the Arc Rounds for tearing down Tone's particle wall and Legion's gun shield, it seems pretty good for that and you get to deal some damage to the titan and strip away that ability, rockets probably do the same job as good or better tho. (arc/maelstrom/superior)

Arc Rounds(eats through shields/does more damage)-Maelstrom(get up close and personal and eat through shields or do more damage) OR Rearm and Reload(energy siphon can be used more often along with Rocket salvo getting shield or depleting enemy shield's)-Superior chassis(at full health....LITERALLY 15000 HP WHICH IS 2500 MORE THAN SCORCH+LEGION) And the battery stealing execution. How to play monarch: 1. Drop titan as early as possible 2. Bully pilots 3. Get cores (if you're at all competent, you can get core 1. If you get a bit lucky, you can get 2 either just as or right after they start dropping their titans) 4. Profit

I would love to use that battery steal execution, but I keep getting ROBBED I have had many instances where I hit a doomed titan, he loses health and I get a hit marker so I know I'm not missing, but nothing happens except the enemy getting pushed back to safety.

I like how they improved arc rounds so they sap vortex and flame shields faster so you can fight against those kids who walk back and hold up their shield

Thanks for the guides Frothy, I've been increasingly playing TF2 more and more over this past Apex season and these Titan Mastery guides have helped so much! I also see how you find executions OP in a sense cause even though a titan is doomed they can still do a great amount of damage on you. However someone can easily stop that last incoming damage if they just get close and punch them. Not only that but you, yourself, take no damage while in the execution.

A way I use it which seems really efficient is when you see a titan use energy siphon hit them with rocket, rearm energy siphon and rockets then lay a whole mag into them while Dodging their attacks to your best ability

by the way your tip on aiming for the feet for splash instead of trying to get direct hits horizontally absolutely changed my game for the better, I'd been neglecting using the rockets at all because I couldn't land them, totally didn't think about aiming them differently.

If Respawn's goal with Monarch was to create a titan that's annoying as hell they nailed it. Monarch is a puss at level 0-1 and gets shredded by everything (expect mild sunburn), can keep herself alive to an annoying extent when run right, and becomes an angry OP goddess at level 3+ (mostly). I like to play a mini game with Monarch called "I dare you to get close to me" with maelstrom- I've never dropped so much electric smoke in my life lol. Thank you for the thorough break down of Monarch!! Now please do another ~45 minute video about how the Tone Prime model is an unholy abomination who should have never seen the light of day and that Tone Prime deserves better, thanks.

It's really cool how they designed her. It reminds me a lot of for honor at the moment. The base kits don't have a lot of variety in moves. Similar to titanfall 2 where you only have like 1/2 kit specific viable options. And due to the super narrow design of the roles it makes things frustrating. Then DLC drops for both games including someone new to play with. and suddenly the design is through the roof. There is actual depth to the characters and you can play them a few different ways. Though it saddens me that monarch still suffers from bad kit specific design. either too good to not use or too bad to even consider. but due to her variants of core she still technically has more flexibility. Even if respawn added in more kit specific options and buffed the bad ones I don't know if it would be enough to diversify the base cast. I would think the easy solution would just give them the monarch treatment and let them have different core options. either in the upgrade path she has where you have 3 levels. or just creating different cores for the base cast that people can choose from as a loadout option. My only issue with this though is it would sort of cheapen the unique factor on monarch. I still really wana take the core repair option that takes you out of doom state since I hardly ever can get executions. But since the change that shields no longer prevent executions i'll try to see if I get them more consistently now. A quick question though frothy. Is it only the shields she gets from her shield getting ability that temp removes her crit box? or is it shields she gets from any source like batteries and activating her core? Does this ability to remove the crit spot transfer to people you heal as well? or are you just giving them shields. Also that last comment on scorch got to me. I feel you. He was my favorite over ion in the beta. but in full game I just can't touch him because everyone else feels so much better. thanks for the long video.

overcore 5 sec off rearm 2x rockets rearm and reload chain gun/superior chassis This is such a good build for constantly lauching rockets non stop. In my opinion it is also the best build against legion for that reason.

My Monarch build (which works about 90% of the time) Overcore & Battery boost right out of the gate (After all who can argue with your first core starting at 50% charge?) Energy Thief (Not only does it look awesome to pull off and frustrate the hell out of your victim but it also repairs you and gives a full shield charge.) Core upgrades: Level 1 - Arc Rounds (An extra 10 rounds per clip is always welcome, plus it basically gives the middle finger to anything with a shield. A little trick you can use which has been added in the most recent balance changes is that "Saturating" a vortex shield (Hitting it until it completely depletes it's energy) causes all the shots caught by the vortex shield to overload the shield, damaging Ion for the full damage of all the blocked shots and adding a 1-2s delay before vortex shield starts recharging.) Level 2 - Energy Field (More shields! More disorientation!) Level 3 - Superior Chassis (This thing increases your max HP by 5,000 and heals for the same amount. Meaning if you use this at full, you have a whopping 15,000 HP (not including shields). Making you more tanky than a Legion or Scorch which have 12,500 HP each. If you're playing an Aegis game mode you can throw an extra 2,500 onto your chassis and shields. Giving a grand total of... Drumroll please... 22,500 HP 5,000 of which is rechargable shields. That actually makes the health bar so long, on your titan's HUD the 7th and final block of health doesn't show up (It is there though.) This makes monarch insanely durable even without the extra 5,000 HP from the Aegis mode.) This build I use focuses on survivability for Monarch. The side effect of this does mean that she doesn't hit quite as hard as other titans but she still has decent damage and as a result when running this build I can quite easily wear my opponents down, double tapping with Energy Syphon to recharge my shields when they get low while waiting for my core to charge. My usual strategy is if I encounter an enemy titan unaware of me I'll either hit them with energy syphon or rocket salvo immediately to catch them off guard then lay into them with the chaingun while they're recovering. By the time they return fire and start getting my shields low my energy syphon is usually off cooldown so I hit them with it, rearm and hit them a second time immediately to boost my shields back up and disrupt their vision while I hit my dash to flank them again and continue to unload on them, firing off rocket salvo again once my clip runs out for a burst of extra damage. Depending on the location I vary my use of electric smoke. If I'm in a tight enclosed space I'll throw it in as well for extra damage and blinding the enemy... Whereas in a more open area like most of homestead my use of it will be more defensive, since it breaks lock-ons from everything except Tone, shuts down rodeos, is excellent area denial for pilots and obviously breaks line of sight.
