@albiehay55678 жыл бұрын
And Titanic WASN'T trash and just for money making?
@digitalbritt2k7 жыл бұрын
AlbieHay 40012 No. Titanic is a literal work of art. The only reason they invested so much money in it is because they wanted to make the best movie they could. Everyone thought the movie was going to completely flop and wouldn't be able to earn back what they spent, lol. It was a perfect storm, really. James Cameron GENUINELY cared about and was fascinated by the Titanic and wrote/directed this film that he really believed in. He put so much work into making sure it was top notch. 90% of the CGI used in this movie still holds up today and looks fantastic -- and it was created in the 1990s!!! Pretty much every action movie today relies on CGI and it's done TERRIBLY cheap and looks awful because they just want to get the movie out to make a quick buck. That's not the case with Titanic...
@albiehay55677 жыл бұрын
Fair enough, but because it was made using so much CGI, professional-looking or otherwise, it can't really stand up next to a film like "Lawrence of Arabia" which has aged immaculately - probably BECAUSE it was made entirely without CGI, making it about 50 times as impressive as any post-Steven Spielberg blockbuster, and allowing it to qualify as a true work of art.
@digitalbritt2k7 жыл бұрын
AlbieHay 40012 That's true, but digital art is still art though. There's no way they could've made this movie without integrating a GREAT deal of practical effects with CGI. The CGI was only used tastefully to enhance and polish and elevate what they were already able to do with practical effects. That's another reason why the movie still looks great. They actually BUILT a full scale model of the ship! And completely replicated other sections. Right down to the tiny white star line engraving in the freaking silverware. Mix that with the cinematography/directing, story, attention to detail, etc.. you have a work of art. You can't just dismiss something as not a "true work of art" just because it used digital technology. It was at their disposal and could help improve the film.... why not use it?!

@ndumisomlokoti76454 жыл бұрын
Jack said "I want you to make me a promise..." And he went on to lay out a life for Rose that she must live, a life that is full and unhinged, the type of life Jack was already living, that he would've continued living. Then he said "I want you to never let go of that promise" Then she reluctantly responded with "i won't let go" and he gripped her hand tighter and said it again, "Rose, You'll never let go. Never let go of that promise. You hold on to that promise." And then she said surely, "I'll never let go." When the life boat comes back and she realises that Jack's dead. She whispers "I'll never let go" and loosens her hand to swim to the whistle. When she took her hand out of his and let him go, that's her holding on to the promise. And you can see in her pictures in the very last scene. She went on to even learn how to ride a horse "like a man" like Jack had said he'd teach her. Stop twisting her words. She didn't break her promise by letting go of Jack's hand. She kept it, by letting go of his hand continuing their love.

Yes!! he was too close, but as Jack & Rose both supposed to be Americans and Kate Winslet, British, was already picked to be Rose they didn't wanted to use another British to be Jack, so they picked Leonardo 😉 and rumor has that Christian Bale hates Leonardo DiCaprio for stealing, not just this one, but another three roles!!! but it's okay, he avenged when took the role for American Psycho out of Leonardo's hands :p I must say that I loved Leonardo, he was unbelievable great as Jack, but as a Balehead I think it would be interesting to see Christian getting his ass freeze on the ocean 💔

Goodness, I’ve just finished it. It was the greatest thing I have ever seen in my whole life. Leonardo and Kate were exceptional actors, as was everyone else. The music was extraordinary. The scenery, the CGI, the overall performance of everyone had me close to tears. Exceptional film, James Cameron’s best. Though, I have a few things I’d like to point out! 1. Mollie Brown actually turned back 2. The funnel falling on Fabrizo (I apologise if that isn’t his name) is a reference to John Jacob Astor IV death. He died by a funnel toppling in him. 3. Jack and Rose (to me) are a reference to Gerda and Levard Lintell. When they boarded a lifeboat Gerda fell overboard and Levard didn’t have the strength to pull her up (Rose and Jack) Then Gerda slipped into the icy waters (Jack) Overall, movie was great💖

I think i am a crybaby...i started crying when the old Rose said : Now you do know that there was a man named Jack...and that he saved me..in any way that a person can be saved....I don't even have a picture of him. I was like....WAAAAAAAHHH. I am not *sniff* crying....do you remember that *sniff* grandma is doing some onion salad ? *sniff*

Every time when I see this movie with the song, I got goosebumps. The movie was on screen when I was 5. One of the scenes which deepened in my mind was the elderly couple, was laying on a bed and holding each other until the last min. It was so shocking for a 5-year-old...actually...even for now....the heartbreaking feeling won't fade away...

My standing theory is that 73% of what made Titanic amazing was just "My Heart will go On"

I don’t think anyone could fathom being in the middle of damn ocean, in the middle of the night, it that cold, and on a beast of a ship like that and it SINKING. Imagine the terror of having to navigate from inside that thing and get outside amidst the panic, and try and figure out how to save your life. Especially there at the end when it’s hopeless and that thing breaks in 2 and plunges back in. Horrible way to go.

Yeah and after over 100 years people still are talking about it so at least they'll be immortalized in history.

I'll never forget seeing this movie in theaters to the hour of 100th anniversary of the sinking. I was so surprised to hear so many people still weep at the sad scenes. As far as I'm concerned, it was the best way I could've honored those who died in the event that has/will always fascinate me.

The old couple are Isidor and Ida Straus. A wealthy couple. Ida was supposed to get on a lifeboat, her husband told her to go but she refused stating that whereever he goes, she goes. James Cameron mentions how when Rose jumped back to the ship for Jack, it was basically the same thing Ida did for her husband. Both of them died that night Titanic sank.
