Imagine packing for a cruise, not knowing that someday the items you pack will be on display in a museum.

The stories never end! from construction, to mistakes made , to the people who survived and those who lost their lives... Titanic is known all over the world and the interest will always be there. The items taken from the sea floor surrounding the wreck are a great way to remember all those who perished and their stories plus the survivors.. It is all very interesting and keeps it all alive over a hundred years on! everything taken from Titanic is fascinating and well worth travelling to see. I myself have recreated some of the jewellery that was found in a pursers leather,plus bag plus some of the keys used on the ship! ...

Wait a second! At 1:57 they show a pair of binoculars! It’s been a pretty well known fact (supposedly) that the men in the crows nest didn’t have binoculars because a crew member that didn’t go on the voyage, but left the ship just before departure, accidentally took the “only” pair home with him. That was One of the reasons they didn’t see the iceberg in time, apparently. I’ve seen this in countless docs and it was even mentioned in James Cameron’s film! 🤯 BTW: I went to this exhibit in Vegas. It’s amazing

Movies should have never glamerised that ship. It was a cold brutal piece of metal keeping people afloat. It was just hidden under wood panels.

Dr. Robert Ballard, who found the wreck, believes this is no more than grave-robbing for profit. The people who have exhumed these items hid behind "preserving history". I'm conflicted because while I agree the wreck shouldn't be disturbed, I have so much respect for it that seeing these things would bring me closer to the story I love dearly. I think plates, spoons, chairs, etc. may be okay, but personal items belonging to those lost and those who suffered loss should be left undisturbed. Btw news anchors, Leo was never on the ship. Your lack of respect is appalling.

Thought they couldn't find any BINOCULARS....NOW they arrive. Hmmm
@raymondhutchinson71563 жыл бұрын
The binoculars were on board Titanic, they were just locked in a cabinet and they couldn't find the key. A man by the name of David Blair worked on titanic , but was transferred to another ship before the maiden voyage. He accidently took the keys with him

Do they leave items in car wrecks or pick them up? Asking for a friend?
@maryt4575 Жыл бұрын
My thoughts exactly. Dr. Ballard himself feels the same way. I would love to come in contact with things like plates and chairs, but that is probably my own selfishness. Personal items should definitely be left undisturbed. Glad to see another person with respect for the wreck and those lost. God bless!

@@maryt4575 how is it different? Do they pick up items from a car wreck or leave them in the road and say it's a grave? Yes or no?
