Well, binos wouldn't have hindered the lookouts either. The night was so dark that the iceberg was visible as a lack of stars on the horizon. I''ve been out on a dark night to photograph the Milky Way over Godrevy Lighthouse... it's surprising what you see in silhouette against the stars. That was the same night I almost walked off a cliff. But that's a different story.

There was a couple watertight comperments the doors wouldn't close in however britanic still would have survived if it wasn't for the open portholes

Yes, Britannic should have stayed afloat long enough to be beached. The portholes sealed her fate.

Between the hospital ship livery and the safety improvements made after Titanic's sinking, they would have felt relatively safe sailing through an active war zone. Being in the Mediterranean, tt would have been stiflingly hot in the wards aboard Britannic. The nurses would wanted to air out and maybe cool down the wards before taking on wounded soldiers. It was really bad luck they ran into a sea mine. At that point, the open portholes doomed the ship.

Idk if it's true or not but I have heard it's highly unlikely that murdoch put the engines to reverse

I think 'On A Sea of Glass' talks about it and how reversing the engines was only done during the sea trials when everyone was prepared for the manoeuvrer. Outside the book, sources seem divided. Looking into it, I'm not sure they had the time to pull such a manoeuvrer.

You can only get to the bow internally, the winding room. The upper deck has not been included in the demo.

how did you get to the bow section? it kinda baffles me how we stil cant go to the view from the bow

'Crew Areas Forward' is as close as you can get to the bow right now. From the spawn point, turning right and right again before the stairs will take you to the crows nest. If you're asking about the thumbnail, it's a shot from the poop deck looking forward. However, in the Demo 401 install location there is a there is a folder called 'map guide' which shows accessible and viewable areas. That said, even with the map some places are hard to find. The squash court took me a while.

The crows nest is as far forward as you can get on the upper deck. I have no idea why it's fenced off. Pretty much everyone wants to stand on the very bow of the ship! The PNG map in the 'map guide' folder shows accessible areas in red and viewable areas in pink. That said, some areas are a pain to find even with the map.

Titanic sank on the 15 April 1912 and the First World War started on 28 June 1914. The Second Balkan War began in June 1913 and was a precursor to the main event.
