The applause when "Composer: James Horner" appeared in the credits... He was a genius.

James Horner Achieves his dream come true! Sissel finaly sang his Master Piece! No one can do what Sissel can do! Her unique Voice take you to a real dream you think is not a human Being! God bless you Sissel!
@caravaggio316 жыл бұрын
Not exactly " a dream come true". In fact: "When I had completed the Titanic [movie], I had to decide for Celine Dion or Sissel['s] [vocals]. Sissel I am very close, while Celine I had known since she was 18, and I had already written three film songs for [her]. But that was before Celine was known and filmmakers and marketing people had not done what they should have done for Celine and [her] songs. So I felt I owed her a Titanic chance, but I could [still] have used Sissel there." - James Horner

Also, sissel sang this in 2012 for horner, much before 2015 performances. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpmagaRripd0h9k

Dude why are you'll comparing both the voices?! No need at all. They both sang this song beautifully; See All of us have different voices, Really no need to compare i loved both the voices. AND THAT'S IT. Love from india❤️
@AmrothPalantir4 жыл бұрын
I agree, we don't need to compare, Sissel's voice is just the perfect one for this song. Celine is like a decent sloppy second 🤣🤣 #NoContest #EasyWin

wow both her and céline truly gave us wonderfully unique and beautiful versions of this song, we're so lucky to now have both of these extremely gifted singers giving their versions of an iconic theme song such as this :')

I've always wondered what it would be like if Sissel had sung this song instead of Celine. And now after hearing this, I'm glad they chose Celine. James seemed to have structured the song as a pop ballad meant to be sung with dramatic pop ballad flare and not as an operatic one. Don't get me wrong, Sissel was perfect for the vocal harmonies throughout the score, just as Celine was perfect for the song. So it's really a win-win for the creators of the film to use both Sissel and Celine and designate the right part to each singer. Switch things up (i.e. Celine for the vocal harmonies and Sissel for the theme song) and the result would not have been as epic.

Sissel does this song so much justice...what a shame she didn't sing it in the movie. I understand James Horner wrote it for her......
@filigrant9 жыл бұрын
Helen Archibald actually horner said he wrote the song with Celine in mind, and Celine didn't want to do it at first but he kept pushing her and they decided to do a demo wich ended up being used in the movie.... This more operatic version gives the song another layer of 'chills down my spine'

Helen Archibald It's a nice cover, but no one can sing this song like Celine. She is a legend.

Fernando Férri Yes agree with you. not as good as celine. Doesn't have the same amount of power behind her voice.
@Jane_Louise_b729 жыл бұрын
filigrant Going by Celine's biography she repeatedly turned it down because she didn't want to do a song that she says went with a film where everyone knows the ship sunk. She thought it was too tacky. However after previewing the movie she was breathtaken and overwhelmed by it's beauty and agreed to do the song
@adam324929 жыл бұрын
The song was however was written for her and we're hearing her version now in 2015 instead of 1997 when she was 28.

I was thinking all the vocal sounds in Titanic movie for 20 years belong to Celine Dİon.That's unfair to Sissel because ''My heart will go on '' had been just played the end of the film so you can think that's the same voice with whole movie.Celine's success belongs to Sissel.She vocalized whole the movie but she was not American or Canadian.That's the reason why people still dont know Sissel.

La ironía que en los créditos aparece Céline, pero quien estaba inicialmente destinada para cantar la canción era Sissel. Sissel tiene una voz increíble.

Is that Celine Dion?
@rhettmaxwell4860 Жыл бұрын
Actually no. It’s Sissel who did the wordless vocals for the film like the main title music. She was originally meant to perform the original version but makers of the film went of Celine Dion instead but Sissel performed it here.
