Just amazing how a word like "biggest" in the title can attract such a lot of stupid comments. Perhaps if this model had been described as the "Greatest", model of the Titanic, it might be difficult to disagree. This is truly amazing.

No matter how many new ship that are built, they will never be as beautiful or famous as TITANIC. she is as famous today as as she was when she was completed.

My god, that's absolutely glorious. Mr Ismay would be proud.
@johnny1963ifyАй бұрын
Mr. Ismay was a coward.
@sebcat04Ай бұрын
@@johnny1963ify Explain how exactly. He spent the entire night helping as many people as he could, before leaving the ship in one of the last lifeboats. Who would have benefited from him going to his death? People try to claim that it was his choice about the lifeboats - of course, blame the head of the company for conforming to the industry standards at the time. Ismay thought of the idea of the Olympic-class ships in the first place. He had a bad relationship with his father, Thomas, yet he carried his company to greater heights than he could ever have imagined. If there was no Ismay, you would never have your beloved Titanic. Please, do your research, and uncover the truth about the guy. At no point did he demand lifeboats actually be removed from the ship - an earlier design actually called for fewer lifeboats. The notion that he persuaded anyone to speed the ship up is completely bogus, a misconception that was cottoned on to by the yellow press, which then became the basis of a smear campaign. The true greedy arrogant coward of the Titanic is Hearst and his newspaper empire. It's disgusting that so many people are content to believe that self-preservation is cowardice, and suicide is heroism. Saving lives is heroism, putting your life before others is cowardice. Again, Ismay spent the night helping as many people as he could, before leaving in one of the last lifeboats to leave the ship, a place in the lifeboat that nobody else would have taken. Nobody deserved to die that night. Not Captain Smith, Not Thomas Andrews, not any woman or child, not the engineers, not any of the black gang, not Bruce Ismay. Picking and choosing who lives and dies makes you a monster.
@NebulasecuraАй бұрын
@johnny1963ify no he wasnt. If he was a coward then why did he stay on the ship for two hours and only boarded a boat after helping with the evacuation all night? He didnt take a seat from anyone either according to survivor witnesses.
@johnny1963ifyАй бұрын
@@Nebulasecura All those 3rd class women and children who died doesn’t look good for the designer of the ship who was traveling for free to survive.
@NebulasecuraАй бұрын
@johnny1963ify They weren't locked down there intentionally. Most of the losses of third class came from people not understanding the signs in their own language and getting lost in the ships corridors.

As with any model there are no doubt countless slight inaccuracies, we're still learning and interpreting so much about her even to this day. As for the funnels, they were painted "White Star buff". With buff being defined as a yellowish beige. Which unfortunately was their own recipe which has been lost to time. It also changed over time, the 1912 colour is not the same as what was used on Olympic in her later years for instance. Photographs of the era (even when actually of Titanic) aren't helpful as the plates and processes used to develop their black and white photographs, can make some colours appear darker or lighter than they were. Comparing the funnels to those on ships from other lines docked nearby can give some general idea on tone and possibly saturation, but only in the rough sense that they were probably not hot pink. So not terribly useful. Currently the closest you could get, would be if you could somehow recover a flake of paint from the wrecked funnels. But almost nothing remains of them and any paint is mostly long gone. There's also a good chance 112 years of salty submersion will have altered the colour of any surviving flake in potentially unpredictable ways. So as it stands, all everyone can say for sure is that it was a buff colour that would be clearly recognisable among its competitors. So it wasn't bright yellow, bright orange or cunard red, but somewhere in between on the warm yellow side of things. That makes this interpretation perfectly fine. Personally I'd go a bit less saturated with a hint of beige, but this certainly looks great too. 😊

I am open to correction as it’s difficult to count in this video but: The center screw appears to be four-bladed while Titanic’s is three-bladed. Olympic’s center screw was four-bladed.
@michaelbujaki24622 ай бұрын
This model was created before we rediscovered that Titanic had a three bladed center propeller. The only other flaw is that the engines are running while the ship is tied to the dock.
