awesome video. im looking at building my own soon as well. contemplating cone baffles or monocore. I'll probably use titanium as well. the sound on the video is killer though. i have to turn it up high to hear you, then the fast forwarded squeal of the mill is deafening lol..

I am working on a design that takes care of most of the gases and cools them down before they exit the barrel/suppressor. Although still hot the gases are not nearly as hot a current suppressors. First designs are working great, first shot dec. is about 100db -120db depending on how hot the the round is out of a .308/7.52x51, and that is regular ammo purchased right from Wal-Mart.

That's a badass monocore

have you considered putting a wiper on it- it made a huge difference on mine.

Is that a mrpete222 cutting oil can I see? - Chip hook, or pliers, to remove chips. - Do you have a DB meter? Very quite. Great monocore.

Nice and effective results.

+Jeffrey Vastine the rounds fired last night were the only ones so far, I need to get 500 rounds thought it then i know how well it holds up.

Man that monocore was really quiet. I like it better than any so far. Mike

How were you able to get that subsonic to cycle in the 30 Cal? Thanks.

Thank you for the ideas. I've been contemplating doing a form 1 suppressor. I have decided monocore is better than baffle stack for longevity and this gives me some idea.s
@bstanga3 жыл бұрын
just to let you know this was a fail, the accuracy was bad with this one, I think due to trying to drill that long center hole
@blargblarghonk3 жыл бұрын
@@bstanga I'm going to be trying to clone a symmetrical shape. But thanks for the hesdsup. I had planned on .380 caliber since it's going to be used on several non centric barrels
@exportedafrican Жыл бұрын
@@bstanga what do you think the downfall was? The holes not being uniform in the monocore?
@cullenswanson96647 жыл бұрын
WOW. No first round pop? I expected at least the first round through that monocore to be somewhat louder. That was quiet! I'm gonna go with VERY nice work for your first monocore design. How much has the recoil on that rifle changed with the suppressor on it? Really great work. I'm impressed!
@bstanga7 жыл бұрын
Cullen Swanson well I hate to tell you this,but the monocore was a flop. it had a huge POI shift. actually it was all over the place. you need to be able to drill a long straight hole, also the threads in the monocore to tube were to find at 24 tpi, they would get fouled up very easy.
@cullenswanson96647 жыл бұрын
That's gotta be frustrating, man. So what did you do to finish up the build? Did you machine another monocore, or go to a baffle stack instead?
@callofgeorge8 жыл бұрын
what lathe/mill is that you're using btw? I've been shopping around for a somewhat inexpensive one that is decent quality. want to be able to work on small items like suppressors and large enough to be able to thread/crown/contour barrels.
@bstanga8 жыл бұрын
+callofgeorge the lathe is a 13x40 grizzly sorry about the sound, I'll look into that. thanks for watching oh the mill is a 2hp round column mill/drill also grizzly

+Brian Stanga cool deal. thanks, i'll go read up on them. no biggie on the sound. great info man. watching the rest of that series now.

I got into machining thinking I could make a silencer. I finally made one for a Ruger Mark III and it worked pretty good. I'm now interested in making one for an AR, maybe I'll try a monocore, it sure is a lot less turning. I was surprised of how quiet it was, how much bore clearance do you have for the bullet?
@bstanga8 жыл бұрын
+oink079 i go 60 thou over bore, thanks for watching

Great series on the monocore. I'm awaiting approval and have a design similar to yours in mind (including the Ti tube). Any thoughts or improvements you might change after several months of use?
@bstanga8 жыл бұрын
+jfpinkston Well yes on the improvements, After building 4 form 1's this monocore design is not the most efficient, however it was the easiest. The best one are K or m baffles with just 60 deg cones. good luck and thanks for watching.
@jfpinkston18 жыл бұрын
+Brian Stanga Ok. Thanks. In your experience, do you think a steel blast baffle in front of aluminum baffles would hold up for 300 BLK/ .308?
@bstanga8 жыл бұрын
That is correct, I shoot 300blk since it suppresses so nicely I hunt hogs . 308 and 556 might want to go ss or other non aluminum baffles

Of all the different kinds of baffles you've tried out, which one have you settled on being the quietest? I just got my first old lathe and one of these days I'd like to get the proper ATF paperwork and make my own, I need to learn about the lathe first though, that's where I discovered you and tubal Cain.
@bstanga8 жыл бұрын
well I would needd to know what you are shooting, all mine are 556 or 300blk never made a 22lr but that aside k baffle, then cone then monocore. thanks for watching, start making some chips and be careful.
