Raptors in general are impressive, trained hawks have their moments but in general are pretty fun to fly!

@WildlifeCommandCenter
@WildlifeCommandCenter 3 жыл бұрын
Very much yes and when I describe it to people that don’t know about Falconry I do use the term that Falconry is the art of training a bird of prey to take wild quarry

This type of hunting and footage is phenomenal to see--especially with those windy conditions. Jett did an excellent job and made new friends as well!
@WildlifeCommandCenter

Yes, the wind was a factor, but, my lack of proper preparation was the real culprit, I should have planned better

Like I said, everyone has a different skill level when dealing with barbed wire, I've been jumping these types of fence since i was 7 years old, some folks are a bit new to it!

My advice to you would be get involved with the Missouri Falconer’s association. You can find them on Facebook most easily glossary words are very important.

NAFA trips are an awesome event, they need to be celebrated, now if NAFA will post this video to their FB page we will be golden. I've sent them a link and asked them to review it and post.

I’m likely one of the 700 as I joined the past week. Really looking to to do falconry in CT not many in my state that do it sadly. Gonna be hard to get an apprenticeship. 😢
@WildlifeCommandCenter
@WildlifeCommandCenter Жыл бұрын
It will be easier than you think, #1 join NAFA North American Falconry Association as a pre apprentice. #2 look up all the NAFA members in your state, #3 start hunting with them now

Do u actually know what your doing did u ever get a sponsor lol 😂 u should know your bird better before u take him out
@WildlifeCommandCenter

LOL, really good question, I've been a Master Falconer since 2009, have sponsored 8 very good top notch Falconers. I'm self taught, yes, but we have accomplished a lot. When you travel that far with Harris Hawks, it's always a good idea to give them a day to rest, that was the biggest problem this trip, I didn't. When he was acting off, I knew better than to fly him at that point.
