It's honestly cool hearing about someone talking about the earlier models and day's of warhammer 40k. I started getting into the hobby back in 2003 and bought my first starter box which consisted of 9 black Templar, 1 commander, land speeder, 20 dark eldar, scenery, dice, blast templates and a codex. Back when 1 codex was used for all armies to play lol. Do you remember ever seeing the box I'm talking about back then? It's so cool seeing you have metal marines because they were so expensive back in the day. I still have my 5 metal cyclone missle launcher terminators and love them. For those whom read this and are new to the game. Back in the early 2000's a starter box was only 90$ or buying metal marines, would come in a box of 2 for around $10 to $15 or dreadnought were $30 which was considered expensive back then. A space marine 10 man squad box was only 20$ and now same go off Amazon for 50-60$. 3rd edition was probably my favorite because of how simple the game used to be. Before all these new rules, abilities exc were added. Basically now any Liberian or physcer can cast pages of spells to as back then only special characters could cast spells and they were extremely expensive to get. So it was mainly just movement, shooting and charging lol.

I actually still really like Furioso dreadnaughts more than the new ones that have been coming out. I think it has something to do with how much more robotic they seem to me than the others. Although after seeing the Leviathan, it just looks like a larger Furioso. And after giving it a second thought, I think it has to do with the more square shape those two dreadnaughts have. EDIT: I also just realized I probably like the Furioso more because it doesn't have a head on it.

@teambellavsteamalice6 жыл бұрын
I wondered, are there any reasons in fluff WHY the AdMech doesn't use all these walkers themselves in their armies? I think Knight worlds are like agri-forgeworlds mostly loyal to a close real forgeworld. Tech support in trade for the food seems semi-logical, but why not just run these agri-worlds themselves? Or have knightworlds have a couple of knights, but most made for and used by the AdMech themselves. Knight worlds loyal to generic imperium - but relying on AdMech for maintenance and replacements - seems even weirder. Same for the titanic legions, who runs them and why? Even if they were an independent and/or separate force, each forgeworld could use a couple of titans as they work even better when combined with smaller forces.
@KaiCalimatinus6 жыл бұрын
Legio Titanicus themselves are AdMech administrated forces, based on a forge world and loyal directly to the cult mechanicus. The whole Imperium, after the Heresy and Gulliman's efforts to split elements up to rely on each other, mean that each force relies in others. Navy battlegroups, Sisters and the Echlesiarchy, Militarum/Guard regimants, Storm Troopers, even Marines chapters, Mechanicus forge worlds, and the like have oaths, pacts and historical goodwill and grudges in a convoluted spiders web, making good on ancient promises and honouring old debts, or calling in favours long ago earned, in addition to just following orders and fielding requests from local forces in the sector. Knights are an interesting case. If you follow their founding and House Taranis, the Knights were a Martian mechanicus arm. Due to a genetic quirk, they had to select their bloodlines well to ensure a pilot could interface with their knight suit, but were branches of the Cult Mechanicus. As the old terran expansions durong the dark age of technology spreading out into space before Old Night, they took their technology to the stars and many colonies ended up with knight suits among their arsenals. Over the years of the age of strife cut them off and what tech preists remained became knightly Sacristans, and the tech that powers their neural link in the Throne of each knight moulds the knightly traditions into their pilots, and came to rule the Knight Worlds, as their populaces would look to the Knigjts to defend them from xenos, either invasion or the megafauna of the the planet itself. When the AdMech found them in the Great Crusade they forged strong bonds, their knowledge of Knight Suits stemming from Taranis itself, the first house, and so quickly assimilated Sacristans of the houses into the admech, and bonded them to local Forge Worlds. Some Houses did join the Cult directly, others are independent with close links, others more distanced, more like Astra Militarum Auxiliary support, more martial in nature, and fit well alongside superheavy tank battalions and regiments of men instead of at the foot of a titan lording over Skitarii. It just depends on the house

Say what you want, but for me the good ol' chubby Castraferrum deadnoughts will always look the most badass (especially the ironclad variant), with the Leviathan coming at a close second. I'm not sure what it is but they just look perfect, the other ones look too humanoid I guess, kinda forgeting the whole - "Its a walking, combat sarcophagus." idea behind the deadnoughts. Hello there. I'm 42 and I was hugely into Warhammer 40K back in the day. Now I was just wondering if you could tell me when the hell did they start producing Titans in the bigger scale?!!!! I ask because I went into a new toy shop that has just opened in our town and I was surprised to see a Games Workshop section and to my amazement they had s Titan on sale for £95 and came with a pilot. This was just a pipe dream when I was younger. By the way your stuff looks great.
@Sup3rSaiy3n5 жыл бұрын
Matt Leuty I think the Titan you are referring to is probably a Knight. That comes with a pilot and is £95. It is not a Titan though. Forge World make Titans and the smallest is a Warhound Titan. Also where have you been? They have been making titans since 2004 so since you were 27.

If we just go by height and price, the best models for your money would be (to my mind and knowledge): Contemptor Dreadnought £35 (larger than £30 one). Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought £40 (in place of FW (larger than £60 one)). Imperial Knight £85 (larger than everything save FW titans). FW Knight £180 (in place of the other). Reaver Titan £600 or Warlord Titan £1,000 (or neither, can't figure it out). So, that means, the Warhound and pretty much every other dreadnought are the worst models in terms of money and size. Also, I dislike resin, which means, the best model on this list may very well be the Imperial Knight, for me. What do you think? :)
