Thank you for such a clear view of the "Jet" mode Emgo, now that I've seen it more clearly I've come to terms with it and decided I actually enjoy it. Now to wait for a 3rd party/ official Galvatron head for him that doesn't need the crown.

The thing with Galvatron's jet mode, is at looks like a Cybertronian alt mode. I can imagine Galvatron never caring if he had a mode that actually blended in. That's what his minions are for. Him, he doesn't show up until he needs to be seen, so keeps a Cybertronian look.

I've recently gotten into buying Transformers and just last night I think I hit a Major score on with this Figure and 3 others being sold together on Ebay. I got this version of Galvaltron with a Custom head + his normal headmaster and Cyclonus and Sweeps special edition Platinum 3 pack set from 2016, all for 83.00 bucks! The Figures are loose but all complete and in mint condition. Collecting Transformers is quite addicting, my life long friend got me started doing it during the pandemic and I'm not sure I can stop now!

I checked this video out to find the transformation instructions for the jet mode (and discovered I was doing the canon mode wrong). After I get my Galvatron into jet mode, my three year old looked at it and said "no that's bad don't do that again". Given your own reaction I thought you might appreciate that.

On this Galvatron's defense on his triple changing gimmick, the original G1 had a non logical laser pistol mode with the demonic screeching and lighting gimmick as being the most used feature. Granted in the cartoon he never transformed into the laser pistol, so his space jet mode is fine by me. I bought a neck upgrade and customized the crown to be permanently attached to the head which I too sculpted the head to be a complete head. Now it transforms as he should and is not a head master but I kept his jet parts and I like it as is.

That's why I cut the mask off and bought Apeface and did some custom modifications to my Galvatron figure. I took the face off of Apeface and switch it with Galvatron's body....and repainted the rest of the the gray to purple. Then superglued the mask to the face.

You may already know about this by now, Emgo, but I saw a mod on Reprolabel's Facebook page for this Galvatron. The person removed the jet cockpit completely, and cut off the mask from it's flippy gimmick, sanded down the inside of it with a dremel tool and glued it to the Headmaster. It laid more flush to the face and it had full range of motion for the neck. Overall, it looked much better.

I finally mustered up the courage to pick up this Galvatron figure earlier today, using the remainder of my Christmas money. And, despite the fact I agree with you about the helmet issue... Yeah, I'd say it's worth it. You're right, Emgo, the world needs more Galvatron. And, if anything, it's a nice little return to form for his good ol' G1 self. So, in short, it'll do. :) Also, if you ask me, that jet mode would probably work better if he were a Construct-Bot. Y'know, I'm just saying. XD

This has to be the best Galvatron figure to date- or at least the best one I've seen. That G1 Galvatron is hideous (even if it is a victim of it's own time, I guess) and the Galvatron from the 2006 line (the one where he was a tank)....yeah, that figure wasn't all too great.

For as goofy as it might be, I kinda like the spacefighter jet mode, though maybe without the cannon on it. It's a nice mobility mode, with the bigass cannon mode for blowing up Autobots (and traitorous Seekers). Even with flaws, definately an improvement over the Classics tank version.

Just a suggestion, but if you turn his jet mode upside down and use the big black fin on the back as a handle, he has a gun mode!And with a bit of adjusting, you can have him looking more like the original gun mode. Also, am I the only one who thinks it'd be a good idea to have him try to store the matrix or something in his chest in robot mode?Just saying.It's better than a necklace.But, maybe that's just me.

So I went and painted the crest thing on the headmaster purple. While not as amazing looking as the thing people are doing by cutting the mask out and super gluing it in place.. it looks MUCH better and does not ruin the titan master gimmick. Seriously, all they had to do was put some purple on him and ignore the spring loaded mask thingy. That or made it a fold out "helmet" like Prime and blaster.
