When heroes are at age 1 they are weeker, if You drop them at that age is just like making fight a minotaur with a chimera, chimera will always win. But if You use the triggers and put classical age, heroic age and mythical age active (set tech status) there would be more realistic results You must consider that egyptian priests and nordic Hersirs are too week at age 1

in the scenario editor all units appear as the base level unless you use a trigger to research any upgrade so I guess it's myth age.
