Welcome back! I'm on the 35mm x 50mm black AH1 bars after using their carbon 35mm x 35mm bars because I wanted more rise as I was tired of my neck and thoracic back being sore/cramped. I love the 50 mil rise! Game changer for me.

I don't think that a 31,8mm bar is more compliant in all cases. There might be relatively heavy 31,8mm bars that don't flex as much as a lightweight 35mm carbon bar like the Raceface Next bars.
