Every time I win a Dutch I hear Simon's voice "get in there son!" Been following for years now, all the way from 1400 to 2100 currently; after all that time I guess you've become my spirit animal

Whoa impressive gains you’ve made under Simon! I went from probably around 1400 to 1800 watching him.
@jakub95803 жыл бұрын
@@RaceLogik I discovered his channel back in 2016 through the John Bartholomew rivals match, which he lost, but managed to play one of the finest sacrifices I have ever seen. Since then I've watched almost all of his Titled Tuesday videos and along with said John Bartholomew and Chess Network has been one of my main chess influences. I guess it's beneficial to have a chess rival / buddy, as both sides try hard not to lag behind in their development, for they don't want to get destroyed over and over by the same person. It also keeps your interest from fading as the rivalry spices up the games. Without that I don't think I would ever get over 1200 - 1300 as I would have had no reason to get so involved.

the blunder with the queen, 1:15:00. most natural - you think you have a pawn chain, it's strong, you don't worry about it... suddenly he can break the chain with a 'check', and take your queen - the human brain isn't ready for such boom-boom table turning. I guess that's a difference between just a pawn chain, and a "fortified" pawn chain - like in the French Defense. Normally, in the K.I.D, the pawn-chain IS fortified. - doubled. and, we do play Mostly, according to our subconscious - our hidden memory. that's why an experienced player [or cook, or carpenter] is better. but here, the subconscious has betrayed the player - telling him the pawn-chain is unbreakable.

Hey Ginger! Next time can you play the whole title tuesday using the London System? LS are you best vids and as a newbie I have decided thats the first opening I'm going to learn :)
@TiltedPenguin2923 жыл бұрын
If you want to improve, openings are the last thing you want to look at. Tactics = rating. Also, London is generally not a good choice for improving.
@justadudeinsweden3 жыл бұрын
@@TiltedPenguin292 That might be true if all you want to do is up your rating, for me the London is good as I'm learning _why_ to move a piece. As a newbie I get stuck a lot as to "what to do next", Ginger explains the why quite well in his LS vids. I'm more interested in being a strong player than a rating player :)

tactics also represent strength and so does rating. Im not talking about anything different. London is not considered good for beginners cause it doesnt teach you anything. Not trying to be toxic or anything of sort, just an FYI. Try to get into good habits.

If Simon captures the rook with *1...Kxc5* , then *2.Rc1+* wins the other rook with a skewer. After that, White has a won game because the rook scoops up the pawns.
@robinmorritt74933 жыл бұрын
e5 allows Bh3 which pins Simon's rook. No defence. Then bishop takes rook, and it's game over.

why not try new theme , the shape and color of the pieces can improve your board vision. thats fighting chess... when i used that icy see theme cool tone can possibly calm your neural network for chess in the brain resulting in slower and unclear planning perhaps.. Since I changed to a warmer tone tan board with the adorable bold Neo pieces or the armored Lolz pieces with sand or tan board, feels like my board vision has improved a lot. Or Icy sea board with the Neo wood pieces is the same as a real board I have. Also why no pumping techno with your beer. Thanks enjoy
