I don’t think I was really going to comment anything on here until your last statement about the snobbery about playing a Kirkland golf ball. The numbers that you posted with the seven iron obviously had some discrepancies within the data set because I have played the Kirkland for two years both models the first GEN and the second GEN and they do play shorter but not anywhere close to what you guys were hitting . So you think it’s an insult for a golf ball to be sold at a very reasonable price because it’s piggybacking off the R&D of major manufacturers? Those major manufacturers are trying to get you to pay $55 out the store for 12 golf balls vs 35$ for 24… the fact that the Kirkland was engineered to play from the green to the tea box and not vice versa like most cheap balls is a first of its kind for an inexpensive golf ball.

Costco recently released a Gen 3 Kirkland ball in black packaging. I would be interested to see how it compares with the current Pro V1 ball. It is supposed to be better performing and more durable than previous generations.

What I don't understand is why EVERY reviewer thinks putting a Kirkland up against a Pro-V1 is a knock on the ball? At 4.50 a ball vs. $1.15 a ball and numbers that close? Kirkland all day. You guys are at altitude. Here on the East Coast at sea level the differences are smaller. Why don't any reviewer put the Kirkland V3 up against a QStar Tour, TM Tour Response, Titleist Tour Speed, Bridgestone Tour B XS or any other mid-tier 3 piece urethane ball in the $34-$40 range? I think everyone would be surprised at how they perform compared to them.

I just purchased the yellow Kirkland balls. I played a round with them last week. I usually play chrome soft x. I absolutely loved the Kirklands. They felt soft enough and i didn’t feel like i lost distance. I think it’s becoming more common on the course.

mid-irons are the most important part of my game. Please explain how there was such a difference in Trevor's 7-iron yardage. There's a 30 yard difference which of course means flying the green with Pro V1 if you're used to Costco, or, obviously, coming up 30 yards short if you're used to Pro V1 and hit a Costco. What am I missing here? I don't understand the end result as being comparable.

Im a former 4 handicap player. I had 5-6 years of 1-2 rounds a year my game suffered and so has my back. Im going through a swing change to save my body, these balls are ideal for me especially for the round the green performance - i was always Prov1 but when your losing 2 or 3 a round its a great alternative just now for me 😊

I've been playing the Kirkland ball since the spring of 2022... I picked up 20 boxes of the Kirkland V2, and recently picked up 20 boxes of the new Kirkland 2023 ball.. I have no issue playing the Kirkland ball, and if i do happen to lose one, i don't feel as bad vs losing a 5$ ProV1 or TP5. It would be interesting to see people play the Kirkland ball for a summer to see how it affects their scoring vs their normal ball.

The Kirkland KSIG V2 sits in between the ProV1 and ProV1X for compression. I've found that off the driver the Kirkland is about 2mph slower on ballspeed then the ProV1X and about 10-15 yards shorter on average due to the combination of more spin and slightly less ball speed. The KSIG spins more with all full shots from wedge up to driver but spins less around the greens more similar to harder cover mid level balls in the $30-40 range per dozen. For the right player the KSIG ball is great. I happen to be a higher speed lower spin player so when I'm not striking the ball well the KSIG helps keep the spin from dropping to low and softens out the high toe hook. If you are a high spin slicer the KSIG will probably kill your performance which is why the ProV1 probably performed better although with that massive gap with one of the players iron distances that seems to be purely the players influence as I have only found the Ksig to be about 5 yards shorter with my 7 iron than a ProV1 but my PXG Gen3 XPs are low spin. The new 0317 ST darks just arrived so if I add more spin maybe the prov1s might separate more. The only reason I switch from the KSIG V2 to a ProV1X in amateur tournaments is manufacturing tolerances and green side spin other wise in casual rounds the KSIG for me that is, will out perform any mid level to lower end premium ball from tee to approach as long as I'm hitting GIRs the ball difference is negligible in fact I have shot some of my best scores with the Kirkland. I wish it came in yellow.

10-15 yards is a little offshooting, atleast in my experience. When I tested kirkland 2.0 and prov1x I only seen a 3-5 yard difference max. And ball spin, speed was almost identical. I just don't see any reason for paying over $50 for a dozen of Titleist. When u get 2 dozens of kirkland balls at Costco for 26$ that perform almost identical. The best budget + performance ball you can ask for.

@@GolfInHawaii69 my data is accurate but it is my data not yours and is specific to my launch conditions. I've tested it thoroughly on course and with my gc3. I've gamed the Kirkland V2 for non competitive rounds since it's release. I can explain some of why the Kirkland is a shorter ball. it's slightly larger ball in diameter and when it does have manufacturing issues it measures slightly lower in weight. The Kirkland V2 is a 94 compression ball and when I compare balls using the 10-15 yards it's against a ProV1X with a 97 compression rating. Lastly is the spin rate, the V2 spins more with every club in the bag on full shots and while I love seeing 2200-2500rpm with the driver on the course to prevent a low spin hook its not has low spin as the ProV1X at 1900-2200rpm. I play at sea level air density so a larger slower ball that spins more is going to be shorter. The last part is ballspeed. The lower the ballspeed the lower the separation between the V2 and ProV1X. From what I've observed on the GC3 when I keep the ballspeeds under 170mph the separation on avg might be 5 to 10 yards because for ME a little to much spin keeps the carry distance and to little spin I start to lose carry distance being a low spin player. But when I'm swing at my upper edge the ProV1X or Bridgestone Tour X will start pulling away from the Kirkland and is 10-15 yards shorter. The Kirkland starts to feel like a marshmallow and doesn't get the ballspeeds and instead of being 2mph slower under 170mph ballspeed it's about 5-6mph slower when I get up around 180mph ballspeed. All that said I still game the Kirkland V2 for non competitive rounds because it's one of the more consistent balls under the $30 price point with decent compression however I just started using the PXG ball has a 97 compression but spins closer to a Kirkland. I don't have any hard data on it yet but have played dozens of rounds with it and that ball is much closer to being identical to a ProV1X when played side by side on course. All that said I think a low spin player and with a driver speed of 110mph or less won't notice a big difference between the Kirkland v2 and ProV1X. I'm looking forward to Kirkland V3 with the yellow balls. I highly recommend checking out their reviews on balls, great way to help you fit yourself when moving from one company to the next. Srixon had a buy 2 get 1 free deal this weekend so I bought 3 boxes of the Kaepka Z Star diamond ball. Thanks to mygolfspy I was able to find a ball from srixon that performed the closest to the ProV1X. mygolfspy.com/labs/ball-lab-kirkland-performance-v2-review/

@@SasquatchTour Thanks for the info. For me kirkland performs just as well as any top brand names for 1/4th the price. I don't know of any other ball that's as cheap and near as good as the kirkland 2.0. I played with a prov1x and kirkland for 18 holes and each drive the kirkland was right their with the prov1x and even past a few times. The feel is half way between the prov1 and prov1x. Not to soft or hard. Ball flies straight no issue. I just don't ever see myself using anything besides kirklands.

I've tried and tested the Kirkland. It's got good spin around the greens, but that's about it. It's pretty slow and VERY spinny and feels like crap. I encourage everyone out there to play TaylorMade Tour Response. That's the ball I play and I want you guys to buy a LOT of them. And hit them into the tall grass so I can find them and play them for free. But seriously, if you're very value-conscious, buy the Titleist TruFeel or the Vice Drive ball. Both around $20-$25 per dozen. Despite Titleist's marketing blather, the ball simply doesn't make that much difference.

I have loved prov1x for years. I recently played a desert course and lost my last few prov's. Yesterday my wife and I played a local municipal course and I used random balls she had in her bag. Among those were prov1x, kirkland, and avx. Shot for shot, hole for hole the kirkland kept up easily with the avx, and it gave the prov1x a run for its money. We did a costco shop in the evening, and I bought a box of the kirkland. Seeing is believing, and i birdied the same hole (played the same 9 twice) with each ball (prov1x and kirk) on consecutive rounds. I love titleist balls, i trust titleist balls. But they are far from free. As an amateur, i lose like 36-50 balls in a year. Kirkland may be my new go to.

Another great vid, I enjoy what you all are doing. I can tell just from my own experience at times playing both those balls (I'm an 18 handicap), for me the Kirkland as good as it preformed just felt a tad harder than the ProV1. Other than that there is really not that much difference between both balls. If looking to save a few dollars and ger almost equal performance, then for sure go with Kirkland. Now for myself my gamer ball is the Bridgestone Tour BX (avg swing speed 108-110) It still gets good green spin, not as much as the ProV1X I use to play, but I feel more consistent. Just as a side thought, another ball you might think about trying and doing a compare review is the Vise Pro Plus, found this one pretty good and for me was a tad better overall than the Kirkland

And any top brand ball I tested too kirkland is nearly identical. So their really isn't a reason to overpay for just the brand names.

@@embersgolf I can say for myself that I probably don't have consistent enough driver swings to notice a great diffrence. I definitely do not get a distance difference on any irons, hybrid, or 3 wood. Been playing kirklands two seasons. I've thrown in a lot of prov1x and tp5x recently and last season prov1 and tp5. No discernable difference on course at all, but I have a flight scope mevo and want to to a test for myself to see if there is a data change. The data doesn't lie. Dirty kirkies check like a mofo into greens
