Michael, a good advice is to try and get the launch video stream to your editor, such that you don't have video the video (with all the artifacts etc. that comes from that approach). It'll give your viewers a much more stable picture to read numbers off. Aside from that, good stuff as always.

Just tried the TS2. Was fitted for my first driver 8 months ago and titleist D2 917 suited me. I’m a 5 yr golfer 54yr old 14 hcp. 5 shots with TS2 showed slightly further distance but a lot straighter! Maybe my next purchase when price drops

I have a 917D2 and I had a chance to try the new TS drivers this week! I could feel the difference, especially on poor strikes. Just didn’t seem to lose much on heel or toe strikes with the TS drivers. Pretty sure I’m buying one soon. A little more testing is needed to be sure. 😀

Lefty SoCal Golfer Hey Lefty, when you test again, would you mind letting us know if the same thing happens, a lot of the KZbin reviews are saying the same thing as you, I was just ready to buy a G400 max just because of its forgiveness, but now Titleist have thrown a spanner in the works. 👍🏌️‍♂️

Peter Atherton hi! Wanted to report back that I got fit for an M3 and a TS3 over the weekend and then did a head to head with my fitter. The results were surprising. Although both were longer and straighter than my old 917D2 there was a clear winner between them for me! The TS3 was longer on mishits across the face than the M3 for me. This was particularly noticeable on toe-hits. I was registering 10 + yds on heel strikes and 15-20 on toe strikes, which is where I tend to miss. I loved the TS3 and ended up ordering it! Hope it comes soon so I can do some on course testing! NOTE: if you are thinking about the G 400 max, the title is club that would probably suit you better would be the TS2. The Titleist fitter Told me that it is the most forgiving club Titleist has ever made. I chose the TS3 because it spins a little less and fits my game better. I don’t really feel like I’m giving anything up in forgiveness by choosing that club because according to the fitter it is every bit as forgiving as my old driver! For me, the difference in spin was around 200-400 RPM between the two Titleist drivers. I hope you find this helpful, if anyone is interested in more detail on my experience I would be happy to elaborate further!

@@richardsdiaz1 Good info! I was just fit for TS3 as well coming from a 915D2. The results were pretty remarkable. The ball speed was up by 4 MPH but spin was down 500+ RPMs. That combined got me 20 yards! I mainly game the D2 over the D3 for forgiveness. I do hit my 915D3 with more penetration and carry but it's prone to low spinning duck hooks. The forgiveness aspect of the TS3 worried me a little. Good to know it is probably as forgiving or more so than my 915D2! 20 straighter yards is hard to pass up!

so your difference in distance was your draw vs. your fade. = Clubs perform no differently.

So basically 2deg high launch angle bought him 4 yards at best. Save your money. I have the 910 d2 then the 917 d2 and the performance was pretty much identical. My golf buddy has the TS2 with same shaft as mine, no difference in performance whatsoever. The USGA controls what these clubs will do, can never understand why guys spend so much buying new drivers when the technology has changed much since 2010.

@@savi8633 ...yep, and from the original strikes with the 917 there was one of them out there at 309 yards. That would have pulled up the averages and stats compared quite a bit too. No real difference, other than a bit of new club placebo in peoples minds.

Michael great review with comparison details to support the outcome. Inadvertantly I did likewise trying out the new TS2 v a D917 D2 on trackman and found similar (shorter distance as an amateur) results. Higher launch angle with the TS2 with slightly lower spin rates. Interesting I too found the hitting experience with the T2 to be more enjoyable which I believe added to consistency.

Would change simply for the looks and the sound plus it gives you 4-5 extra yards I believe the new driver will be worth it

I just purchased 917D2 for a $100 on Global golf, so according to the nmbrs it was worth it, 6 yard difference? Nah, TS not worth another $400, glad I watched this vid.

Theres only 2 yards difference from longest to shortest carry with ts2 where it was 13 yards with 917... big advantage for ts2

It's a very small sample but yes, the consistency was exceptional. With the TS2 you'd be hitting the same club on your approach every time but with the D2 you'd be up and down a club once in a while.

Although the longest carry is the same and he is a human not a robot so his swing delivery is a factor. I have the 917 d2 and want be switching based on these numbers.

very similar results, saw almost the same results from others, only real difference is teh TS2 is slightly lower spinning, if you are already a low spin player you probably wont see much difference at least not for $500

The joy I get is the whole #'s thing. Although let's be honest and factual. No matter what the #'s are. Ya need to go out and make the club perform. And that comes down to one thing... a consistent golf swing! Which for 99.5% we don't have that. That's why we watch the guys on TV. And are not playing in the tournament. Clubs are obviously important. Confidence, playability, etc.etc. But the gear only takes you so far. It's the Indian, not the arrow that allows you to rise to the top. Thanks for the vid.

I need to go in for a fitting and compare to my current gamer. Still not sure I want to spend 500 and give up my 915d2 that is still good enough for Spieth... Why don’t they just say TS2 is more forgiving and consistent? Looking at your numbers for longest: TS2 308 917 305 917 304 TS2 303 If you did the test again you might actually hit 917 longer. Max potential distance is limited by USGA right?

If you can afford it then why not . The TS range do seem to be more forgiving on off centre strikes from every review I have seen .

Were the heads static weight the same? The shaft you are using is 45 inches, right? This head looks like 915 d-3. The 915 was 5-10 yards longer from testing I have seen compared to 917 d.

ive found gc2 does not like higher launch. i believe the delta between the 2 is greater outside. i like gc2 as a simulator not as much for fitting...

the ts model drivers remind me very much of the cleveland/srixon drivers (favorites). going to try the ts2 and ts3 models with that marvelous titleist adjustable hosel. might try both in the bag for shot flighting.

Drawing the TS2 will give you lower spin and more roll. I thought the 917 was pretty close
