Exactly. Everyone always shit on just WCW for wasting Mike, but honestly they did more with him than WWE ever did. They both completely wasted his talents... it's just stupid.

Mike Awesome was one of the most underrated big men in the history of the business. He deserved so much more then the sad ending he got
@higler.2 ай бұрын
7:21 I always found this so fascinating, that Mike couldn't trust Taz so he protected himself in the finish, which is clear if you watch the match. He just wanted to give the fans one last banger of a match, not some sloppy job finish. I bet he and Rhino would have had an awesome match and then ECW would have a real new Champion and not just Taz to get jobbed out to HHH the next week lol
@ryankeefe2102Ай бұрын
He should've just dropped it to Dreamer I think Heyman over thought the whole thing with the wwf guy beating a wcw at a ecw show in the end it made ecw look bad in the whole thing
@higler.Ай бұрын
@@ryankeefe2102 Dreamer never wanted the damn title though, which is why his title run only lasted 30 minutes lol
@ryankeefe2102Ай бұрын
@higler. the point being it should've been just a straight up thing have a ecw guy do it but having a wwf guy do it you're telling everyone that no one in YOUR company can beat the new WCW so we had to have a WWF guy do it
@higler.Ай бұрын
@@ryankeefe2102 Agreed. I think they should have put it on Rhino right then and there. Instead of having a neutered Tazz(gross) win it in a fucking shirt lol

Rip brother. I’ll never forgive Joey Styles for what he said on ECW: ONE NIGHT STAND.

Joey was in character as the diehard ECW guy, which was entire role in ECW as the commentator. If you really think he thought Mike should kill himself, you're just an idiot and helps to explain why Joey Styles moved on from wrestling for good.

Sh*t. REAL E.C.W. ( R.I.P. ) fans probably remember when Joey Styles tore down Mike on a ppv, & every other chance he got after he left the company while still being their champion. Great to finally hear Mike tell his side, the real truth of what was behind his actions. It was awesome, seeing him show up on wcw television & taking out Nash. It was criminal that the co. buried him soon afterward. Kinda felt similar to The Sopranos episode where Furio took out anyone that moved in that whore house scene, then was made to look like a chump by not doing much of anything else in the series, except wearing stupid clothes & flirting with Tony's wife. Mike looked like Glenn Anzalone in his 30's here. It's tragic how he left this world. R.I.P. Mike. Truly one of a kind. You are sorely missed

That's the story I always heard too, but that there was also a domestic violence incident and possible arrest. He probably thought he fucked up beyond repair and made a brash decision. I believe he was done with wrestling and a Real Estate agent at the time. I hope Dark Side of the Ring does an episode on him and shares his story and hopefully provides some closure. R.I.P.

Never liked the gimmicks that he got stuck with in WCW . He goes from being a dominant Champion in ECW to a "Fat Chick Thriller and "That 70's Guy "which were 2 of the most pathetic characters ever in Wrestling . He goes from being a dominant Champion in ECW to those lame characters in "Fat Chick Thriller " and "That 70's Guy" .At least he got out of there and went back to Japan where he was a legend . He did a stint in NWA-TNA as part of James Mitchel's New Church as well . IMO he deserved a lot better than what he got in WCW . WCW had no clue at all .
