Bart grew up in the business. His dad was George"Two Ton" Harris. Wrestled in 60s and 70s in Jim Crockett Promotions. Was wrestler then manager. Could really draw heat, Bart could as well. This man knows wrestling and does great interviews. Wish would do one on his dad,Johnny Weaver,George Becker and other wrestlers from the day. I'm sure Bart has great stories from his dad and probably saw some when was a kid. Really enjoying these...yall keep up the good work

The reason that Black Bart never got a push in the WWE is because Vince McMahon put so much emphasis on his wrestlers’ bodies and aesthetic appeal. No matter how well Black Bart could cut a promo, Vince would never allow him to move up in the company.

I can remember when I was 7 or 8 years old going with my granddad to shoe Black Barts horse Ole Smokey a couple of times down in Texas. I didn't know it was him until after the last time I got to go that it was him. I just remember a big dude with a cowboy hat and duster that held the horse's reins, which is something I always did when I went with my granddad. Blew my mind to find out it was him.

Black Bart signed with the WWF at the same time "Pistol" Pez Whatley and "Playboy" Buddy Rose came in and all three men plus Bob Bradley seemingly were on TV every week jobbing. Eventually Vince dumped all his high priced jobbers except for Iron Mike Sharpe and Barry Horowitz, who got a push in 1995. Lee Peak is a legend when it came to bumping. His match with The Ultimate Warrior is a great showcase of his ability to take massive bumps yet land safely.

Vince McMahon was 18 years old in 1963, his father couldn't tell him what to do anymore, he could have wrestled anytime he wanted to after that and his father couldn't have really done anything about it, the fact of the matter is Vince CHOSE not to be a wrestler, he regrets his choice and now takes it out on his wrestlers

He was badly used in the WWE. He was often in the first or second match on house shows doing jobs for guys the company wasn't pushing anymore. He did lots of jobs for Koko B. Ware, Hillbilly Jim, Tito Santana, Jim Brunzell and so on. Toward the end, they had him work with younger guys they intended to push like Shane Douglas and Dustin Rhodes. Sometimes though they had him do jobs that made no sense. He was jobbed out to Brady Boone at one point. They also brought in Buddy Rose in just about the same circumstances at that same time and used him in about the same way. Buddy Rose was jobbing to Koko B. Ware on a regular basis too. Lanny Poffo (genius) was also in the rotation losing to Koko B. Ware in opening matches for most of the year. I would call him an "opening match guy" rather than a jobber. He was hired to fill out cards when they still were running often three shows a night.

There's no way Bart was going to get a push in WWF when their roster was already packed with guys that were far more talented and more marketable than him. Did he get a push anywhere after he lost the WCCW title to Kevin in 86? No, even NWA/WCW used him as enhancement talent so why would things have been different in WWF? He was hired to put other guys over, and there's no shame in that.
@daveborder77514 жыл бұрын
He is delusional, he was bought in to be a name job guy like Mike Sharpe or Barry Horowitz. He also made up bs about seeing Vince go onto a WWF ring crew bus & then came out ages later doing up his trousers implying he was a pedo. No idea what he is talking about with the Bass thing-if he means Barry Windham-he was in WCW at that time & didn't appear in WWF until the summer & no way were Demolition dropping the belts to Bart & Barry or Blackjack.
@jonathanturbide22324 жыл бұрын
@@daveborder7751 Yep, it's obvious he just doesn't want to admit he was hired to be a jobber. I thought he would have been proud of it, since jobbers are a very important part of the business. Disappointing, he should be honest with himself instead of lying like that.
@MrJdemetsky4 жыл бұрын
@@jonathanturbide2232 The guy is full of crap! I heard a shoot of his on In Your Head and I couldnt even finish listening cause all the lies annoyed me. Bad lies too. Dusty wanted to make him the Undertaker??!! Dusty wasn't even in the office.He could have been a little more than a flat out jobber like he was like Ron Bass was, but it would not have lasted and he would have gotten jobbed out anyway. I will say though, guys like him, Tim Horner, Mike Sharpe, etc made a decent living doing tv jobs and losing ten minute house show matches.
@TitleMatchWrestling4 жыл бұрын
He also talks about how WWF offered him a tryout around the same time they signed his partner Ron Bass a few years earlier. Not sure about winning the titles but I could see them using Bass & Bart especially between 87-89 when they had a stacked tag team division with Bulldogs, Hart Foundation, Demolition, Powers of Pain, Bolsheviks, Rockets, Young Stallions, Fabulous Rougeau's etc. By the time 1990 came around Bass was long gone & WWF used Bart as enhancement talent.
@jonathanturbide22324 жыл бұрын
@@TitleMatchWrestling Ah yes, thanks for pointing that out. My comment was specifically about his 1990 run, but yeah I can see him being hired as a team to replace the Funks in 87 shortly after his WCCW title run. Possible, I admit.

Early in his career he was but between 1986-1989 Bart was WCCW Heavyweight Champion & CWA Champion in USWA. His partner Ron Bass got a decent push around 1988 in WWF so it isn't too far fetched.
