My grandfather born 1922 in Puerto Rico both Tito Santana and Pedro Morallis was his favorite wrestlers. I grew up with all those classic wrestlers during the 70's and 80's. As a kid I met several of them when WWF in those days were coming to local high schools.

Yes, I think he looked at programs with Hulk Hogan was where the money was. But Vince thought he was 51/50 anyhow, I would have loved to see Orndorff with the IC title though. His feud with Santana was at the point where a title change would have made sense.

I wish you would have asked Tito about Wrestlemania #1 and his masked challenger. I am probably one of the only wrestling fans that knows that the wrestler was Ed Wright, and NOT Buddy Rose. I worked with Ed for a security company. Ed trained me, and he showed me his Wrestlemania ring. He told me who he was and that he wrestled Tito Santana. He proved it to be true after further discussion with him, but not to many fans out there ever knew that Ed Wright existed as a professional wrestler. ✌️

Why was this belt different? You hear stories of guys like Flair having to give security deposits of $25k, etc... in order to travel with their belts. Even if the leather was shot, I'm missing how the belt could be deemed worthless and just "okay" to throw out (??)

Actually, the green bet was NOT the original. The original IC title had a red strap. Over the years sweat, alcohol, and various "bodily fluids" had turned it black, at which time the plates were transferred to the green belt.
