That Intercontinental title is important to mid-card level wrestlers to main event stats. Great WWE superstar wrestlers held that championship belt. I gotta say I'm not a fan of the current Intercontinental Title, I think its pretty horrendous and doesn't make it look prestigious at all. I wish they'd bring back a more classic looking design like they did with the current tag belts on SmackDown. Kinda hoping if Steiner wins the title at SummerSlam they change that belt.

Controversial opinion: I like the original version (without the nameplate) of the Attitude Era “Globe” belt vs the Reggie Parks belt. There was something about that oval shape that was just so unique.

You can't beat the classic Reggie Parks Intercontinental belt. It's probably the third most iconic belt in the entire history of modern pro wrestling in North America. That said, the J Mar Oval Intercontinental belt was nice before WWE got the F out, because the letters on the banner had space to look good, when they squished all the words to make room for a nameplate, it lost some appeal for me.
