The DEO can make mistakes. For a stretch of time, I had been applying for unemployment while sending in my job searches. However, nothing was coming in. I had to go to their office to learn they had disqualified me. I asked why I was disqualified. I hadn't been working since early February 2021. It should have been clear I had given them accurate information. To make a long story short, there was a phone hearing. They paid in a lump sum what they owed me.

A couple of observations.... 1) She says she is struggling, but yet she can afford to buy and play $30 scratchers. (Seems like she can not be doing too poorly) 2) If she owes the money as an overpayment, then I do not see her complaint about them holding back that amount; It is the same if someone owes child support, alimony, defaulted school loans, etc - then the lotto will withhold any winnings to cover up to those delinquent amounts.
