I-Team: Fired ER doctor explains reason for not getting COVID-19 vaccine

TYRONE, Ga. - The only Georgia physician known to be fired for defying a COVID vaccine mandate insisted he’s not an anti-vaxxer.
Redwood is well known in the Atlanta medical community. He spent 16 years as medical director of emergency services for Wellstar Kennestone in Marietta. He worked for four years as an emergency room physician at Piedmont.
Just last month, he was reappointed to the medical staff of Piedmont Atlanta with full privileges.
But last week, Redwood says he was fired from working in both hospital systems for failing to follow vaccine mandates for all healthcare employees.

@baskoller5506 the results have been pretty devastating independent studies done in places like Sweden showed up to a 6 percent side effect rate. You should not be forcing vaccines, also stroke and cardiac arrest rates have sky rocketed. The “professional” is only as credible as his ideology.

We are right there with you! My husband (a Doctor) and I (and our girls) were never vaccinated, and will never be. My husband calls it "poison", as we are now treating youths for POTS and other vaccine related illnesses. Oh, it's _so_ sweet to have hindsight ... all of the misinformation (lies) the CDC said. Unvacinnated people are not getting these _at all_ . My "regards" to the CDC, and everyone who fell for this vaccine - and calling *us* "misinformation. The joke's on _them_ . Not calling you wrong, but I'm curious to play devil's advocate for the sake of discussion and understanding different perspectives. I hope this is a civil dialogue; I hope to hear other's opinions. -Hospitals, universities, and militaries have required various vaccines for some time now, yet the COVID vaccine is somehow different. This stands out to me. -I suppose your response to that would be, " The COVID vaccine hasn't been tested long enough." This is fair argument, but I have to disagree with its validity. -mRNA vaccines have been tested in humans for nearly 10 years. The COVID vaccines were designed and created on technology that had been human tested for nearly a decade. -By the very design of mRNA vaccines, they are unable to alter DNA and the mRNA is denatured and "gone" very quickly. This is why some of the vaccines have to be refrigerated, or else the mRNA would already "be finished." -From years and years of research and experimentation, scientist could be sure that any short term side affects of the vaccine would be less significant than the virus itself. -Of course, there are people that have EXTREMELY rare and fatal side effects to the the COVID vaccine. But these occurrences are not unique to the COVID vaccine. These rare side effects occur in other vaccines. However, the same people using this argument against the COVID vaccine, don't seem to be deterred by the polio vaccine, the HPV vaccine, or the influenza vaccine. -There doesn't seem to be consistency with views of the covid vaccine in relation to other vaccines and well established science. Rather there seems to be a waive of hysteria and emotion that negates the opportunity for further understanding. Sorry for the long comment. Would love to hear others thoughts. Cheers.

I got my first Pfzier vaccine a couple of years ago, shortly after it first came out. I didn't want to because I thought it was too soon to roll it out to the public but I was pressured by my family. I got really scary symptoms right after the first shot and feel lucky that I even survived. There is NO WAY I am getting another COVID shot. I wear my mask in high-risk situations, wash my hands regularly, etc. When I tried to report my symptoms to my doctor or tell other people how bad it was they said it was all in my head. It wasn't. I had numbness in my legs, muscle fasciculations all over my body for weeks, and just felt really really off. A month and a half later I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and uterine precancer. I don't know if the cancer was related to the shot but I know the shot really really messed with my body at a very deep level and was terrifying. The adverse reactions are being hushed up by the medical community and politicians. If I had the opportunity to back in time, I would never have gotten that first shot. I don't blame this dr. for not getting the shot. It's too new and the bad and dangerous side-effects are real.

ALL vaccines are excused from liability for public health reasons and have been exempt from liability from the start.. If there’s severe injury there are cases where the vaccine maker can be held liable. Out of millions of doses of the covid vaccine there have been relatively few serious side effects, the same number as ANY drug that is prescribed. You take a risk every time you take a prescribed medication. There have been serious side effects from the use of Viagra but I don’t see anyone complaining about that.🙄

Like this Dr I worked the whole time retail in a small grocery store where our business was up 30%. We were busy, I encounter 30-60 people a day in close proximity. Social distancing was impossible to enforce. The affluent don't follow the rules, we know this. I had an Asian lady admit she got off a flight from Singapore, shortly after travel bans were lifted. I had customers that thought curbside was acceptable even though they currently had Covid. Long story short I was probably extremely high risk for catching it. Not one of my ten co workers ever got it, nor any immediate family members. I got vaccinated on 9/11/21 J&J single dose. I held and had no plan but gave in, during an interview process for a new job. Since the vaccination my heart has not been right. I received the vaccine at no cost but being uninsured I will have to budget and save if I want to have this heart problem diagnose and treated. The egk is where I'm told to start and that's 350. Best case scenario I guess I take medication for the rest of my life. My uncle has arrhythmia from drinking, hopefully I don't get his medication it's $700 a month with insurance! And to be quite frank I don't care about the whole "we in this all together". Together being the rich elite, the boomers that sold our future for complacency, that unhealthy that indulge in junk food, and all these entitle f$#_s like you that wanna force medical decesions for me! Yea you know what I'll gladly take my heart attack, cuz like I said covid damn sure wasn't killing me. And living in YOUR society is down right dreadful. I'm coming home father! She had horrid reactions, with her heart palpitations, and uncontrollable leg tremors to the point she cannot drive because her legs thrash uncontrollably, she has blurred vision and muscle pain. These reactions started within 2 hours after her injection. My job wanted me to get the jab but I refused because of my sisters reactions to the shot. If you have no comorbidities and are healthy, why are you going to take a vaccine WITH NO LONG TERM STUDIES when you still have a lot of life left in you to live? An elderly person at 85 taking this vaccine in order to get protection and to potentially live a few more years is not the same gamble as a 40 year old with decades to live taking it, not knowing what it may do to his or her body in the future. This doctor, being healthy, has the potential to easily live another twenty years. If it isnt broken, why fix it?

My wife’s work is trying to force it or be fired by Dec 8 but they make it sound like their employees have a choice. Her friend tried to opt out for the religious opt out but then was terminated after 17 years. They said she didn’t give enough information so she is suppose to have 30 to appeal but they won’t even let her appeal and give more info. Our state isn’t even mandating it but the company tries to act like the state is. It appears they may risk loosing at least 1,800 employees at the local branch if they force it.

I will speak to my reasoning for not getting the vaccine. My reasoning is that the data is extreemly clear that COVID affects people with comorbdies..OVERWHELMING. He was protected by the PPE and protocols that have been implemented. The hospital has a right to implement best practices for the service they provide. In this case that means being vaccinated fully and completely. It would undermine the duty to protect clause in their mission statement if even one person was allowed to be absolved of the responsibility of his peers

Many testimonies talking about the side effects they had hope you are ok. A friend passed away in his sleep to week after his uncle. I have a list of 30 people I know directly that got sick in this last two years after the vaccine. Never in my life so many people sick or passed away.

Disappointed that this experienced doctor didn't point out the obvious, even in 2021 - that whether or not someone had the vax has NO effect on someone else, whether or not they in turn had the shot. This (non)vaccine has long since been proven to not prevent transmission, yet even if it did, anyone the doc came in contact with that was vaccinated would have been at no additional risk. I'm a full-time ER doc, caught COVID early on, and risked losing my job over not taking this shot - so very, very glad I hung tough and didn't take it. I would be scared to death now.

Something small and insignificant to indoctrinate the children to accept authority under any circumstances. Reminds me of a story of a little girl asking her mother why there was no sugar in Russia. The Russian woman laughed and told her child that when she was little there was sugar every where. Later that day when the child was in school she told the teacher that story, the teacher told the KGB, the KGB went to the woman home, beat her knocking out her front tooth. Child came home and found her mother crying, bloody, bruised and missing her front tooth. The mother told the child that there has always been shortages of sugar in the USSR. You know that little innocent girl would forever accept what the authorities told her. Her mother's missing tooth a 24/7 example of what authority is capable of. The US does not have KGB but we have the antifa, blm.. wildcard that will destroy as exampled in Oregon. Just drop a name to them and it's curtains.
