I love this song for the message it gave, why stay in a bad place when you can look up and rise ? Throw all the bad things behind you, it can be hard but you're strong and smart enough to do it, you can be a new and better version of you, you can live a decent, dignified life and it doesn't necessarily mean more money, not at all, it means to have peace of mind, happiness, to be with good people, to love and laugh, to help people and to get closer to God, Money is good but Money that comes at the cost of your happiness is useless, what benefit does money serve you if your life is full of fear and misery, even when you are happy your happiness is fake and temporary, once you find yourself alone with your demons you cant think of anything but how depressed you are. I don't usually take music seriously, but this song is one of the few exceptions, you can learn a lot from it really, throw the old you behind, you deserve a second chance.

I remember when this song came out 10 years ago, I loved it. Now I’m 31 and life has been kind to me that last 2 years, I managed to make progress in my life. Now I have 2 jobs and in two weeks I start my second year at university. "Paper Trail" is a really underrated album. 1. Live Your Life 2. Dead & Gone 3. Whatever You Like 4. Swagger Like Us All great songs but I'm very disappointed this wasn't even rated in the Top 50 Albums of 2008. I mean Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III" was number 3 on the list and it was absolute bull-crap, if you ask me. T.I was the best rapper in the game in 2008 and was never really given the proper credit that he deserved. Of course now he hasn't been the same since his arrest but old T.I was a top, if not best rap artist, period! He lyrics are clear, concise and anyone can relate to it.
