Professor Tiziana Andina (Università di Torino) discusses her book Transgenerazionalità: una filosofia per le generazioni future, published by Carocci editore in 2020. In the book, Professor Andina builds a metaphysical foundation for thinking about the concept of future generations, situated between potency and action, fiction and reality. The book asks readers to consider the bonds that unite a society as it exists in time, across different generations, in a compelling analysis of human interactions with that which does not (yet) exist. Practically-minded case studies supplement the theoretical underpinnings of such a philosophical venture to render the book a provocative read for members of the here-and-now. Here she is joined by Katie Reneslacis, graduate student in Italian at Harvard University.
