You explain soo well, I love how you took the time to explain things proberly and take us through step by step. Even explaining how the white line shows when you snap a piece of media and how the yellow line shows up when you select a track, and how you should always move the playhead from the top part of the time stamp ruler. Yes, I'm pretty impressed with it. It seems very intuitive compared to other video editors I've used. I'm using Olive to edit these videos before uploading to KZbin, and its been great so far.

Not sure if this was mentioned already, but.....Video timecode is broken down accordingly: Hours : Minutes : Seconds : Frames. So that first image was displayed for 3 seconds and 10 frames. Most intro video editors set the framerate at 30 fps or Frames Per Second. You may or may not need this information, but I figured I'd share it.

I was really confused about the quality of the 2K video I exported - it looked nothing like a 2K video. I tried hard to solve it and when I almost gave up, I came across your tutorial. I agree with the previous comment, your tutorial is really the BEST one out there. I know this video is a few years old, but I thought it was worth mentioning for the sake of anyone watching this for the first time: The timecodes are actually in seconds and frames (which is why it uses a semicolon rather than a decimal point or comma) so an example length of "00:00:03;10" means "three seconds and ten frames", not "three point one seconds"; "00:00:35;29" will then mean "thirty-five seconds and twenty-nine frames", not "thirty-five point two-nine seconds", etc. The reason for this format is because a video has a set framerate/amount of frames per every second that passes, so it's often more useful to know which frame you're on within a given amount of seconds than it is to know the fraction of a second you're on. You can change the timecode format to display seconds and fractions of seconds or even the total number of frames without any seconds, but it's somewhat important to know what this default mixed format actually means.

Thank you so much for these videos, very clear and you don't go too fast. One thing which you may be able to answer, I have a simple MP4 clip with audio below but when I try to play, the audio gives a few milliseconds of sound and then stops. If however I move along the timeline by dragging the red index line I can hear the audio going at fast speed, so it's there OK. Have you any idea what I'm doing wrong please?

Thx.. Was trying to upload a community event video to youtbe but it was being blocked everytime by youtube due to 2 songs. Whenever i used the option to remove those 2 song segments, youtube simply scaled down my nearly 2 hour video to like 27 minutes for some reason.. Was able to add mute sounds on those 2 specifick parts and now exporting it, hope it works.

Yeah, Youre the man, man, now do this whole shit all over with the newer version? Only 5 minutes into this video doing the same thing, the program crashed twice and did not let me send the error report. I think this is a craftmanshit piece of software, as it cannot handle simple things.

are you importing them. to import you have to go to sequence viewer, right click the the dark area, select import, then go to videos, click on the video, and at the bottom of that tab it will say open or something like that. click that to import the file. this also works with audio
