My girlfriend and her family went through the siege of Sarajevo. Her father had a small shop that was ransacked a few days after shelling started. He had a few cases of butane lighters. Those bic lighters fed the family many nights. You could always trade a lighter for something to eat.

your ready ! and that was a rig you set a year ago before all this started. My wife and grown children said that I was paranoid because I stock up on supplies. People thought preppers were WEIRD. after the grocery stores shelf's were bare, they saw the value of prepping.

One of my best friends made a knife and gave it to me on my wedding day and I lost it for about a month. I found it on top of my truck right behind the 3rd brake light. I guess I was standing in the back of the truck at the tool box and sat it up there. I couldn’t believe it rode there that long. I drive like a bat out of hell.

Looks like a good set-up. I would add an old school canteen & cup for sugary hot drinks, (coffee, tea, mocha) ramen, etc. Good energy and GREAT morale booster on those cold/wet mornings. Been there, done that. Bungee cordage can be pretty valuable too. I carry an Air Force survival knife w/sharpener in sheath. One of the sturdiest knives made that can hammer and US made. A small stash of multi-size zip ties. Just my .02 cents. Great video BTW. Thanks.

Bear, I laughed out loud, when you said, "I've been looking for this knife!" . ...why? ...because it has happened to me. Lol...Those of us who have a few packs can relate. I will go through my packs periodically to update them and that is often like Christmas. I end up finding cool stuff I know I had, but since I hadn't used that pack in awhile, I lost contact with it. Stay frosty Wolverines, the horn may sound and we all need to be ready! Love your channel brother. P.S. Your wife is the best, especially for putting up with you! Ha! When I built my repair kit for my Long Term Bug Out Bag, I bought a set of ITW Nexus replacement buckles for my ILBE. Fastex and Duraflex should have replacement buckles as well. The ones I bought were really affordable, I think I paid $16 or so and got a variety of sizes and they were actually two sets of replacement buckles. They are Coyote Brown as well to match the ILBE. Therefore, they would match that Condor Chest Rig. Just look up ILBE replacement buckles on a Google Image Search and they should pop up. I think a single set would run you around $8. They're easy to install as well. Hope you see this and it helps. Shalom man.

Got some adds you might consider. 1. 'Vicks rub' small tub or tiny tin. The multitool of petroleum distillates! Anti rust even in close proximity, anti bug & itch even chafe. As effective as Neosporin on minor boo-boos and slightly analgesic, smear it on something for a better ignitor. Did someone say emergency gun grease? 2. As for a BIC I prefer a 'Scripto Clic' no flints to disintegrate, a annoyance free simple safety to keep the gas in and they work wet! 3. A cover centric 'neck gaiter'. Blend in with the COOF & stay anonymous! Keep warm for nearly zero added weight cost. I like a nice Touk made of itch free Merino wool better than synthetics for reasons. 4. Last ditty, is a decent big 'flyweight drybag'. Buoyancy tool and if you get two they can be camp socks or water wings. 4 1/2. You must have epic footwear because I didn't see moleskin.... I hope at least one of those got your attention. And all should be very, very light combined.

Love the stuff bear. I do have some advice on the med kit. If you're (not you, mainly talking to viewers) not trained I wouldn't worry about decompression needles. As an EMT we seldom use them in the field and in untrained hands will more than likely do more harm than good. Something like Vaseline gauze taped on three sides and then "burp" it on inspiration to release the negative pressure and reinflate the lung. Train hard and stay vigilant!

While not a bad idea in and of it's self, you're severely limiting yourself by using pistol ammo in your Rifle/Carbine. Insufficient fire power can be a real problem. It's a great way to start, especially for a newb, buy you seem experienced enough to run a real primary

Good load out. My lowest cost kit is Blackhawk! for just that reason, Condor buckles are bad. Note: if I’m securing something ‘permanently’ with 550 (para)cord I’ll break out the thread and needle and drop a few stitches through it. 550 loop, with strands in, around a rifle butt and around mid hand guard for sling mounting locations. If you don’t have at least A 1000’ roll of 550, zombies will know and you’ll be first!

I used a condor chest rig on deployment in Afghanistan. It didn't last longer than 2 or 3 weeks before it was unserviceable. Daily removal and replacement of mags alone wore out the magazine pockets. The stitching came loose and all of the separated pockets became a large purse pocket. It isn't gonna last if and when people ever have to use it for the reasons they purchased it. Just spend a little more . Condor gear is always an indicator for dosnt train much/full of sht. It just doesn't survive when you actually use it

No side armor (yet) but looking for more medical next as I feel like if I have the tools necessary to make someone bleed I then need to plug the blood before other gadgets are needed. Thoughts?

I've busted WAY too many camelbacks to ever not have a canteen on my kit. I just prefer drinking out of a canteen anyway if I'm stationary. People are going to complain about that being too many magazines. If you are one of those people, then you probably do not understand basic small unit tactics. Much unlike personal self defense, small unit tactics generally require a large amount of ammunition being fired to be successful. Hard to get fire superiority with four mags.
