Remasters are simply a matter of improving the graphics, a remake means that the game is completely rebuilt, but keeps the key characters and parts of the story, while a reboot is a completely new game with a completely new story that can include elements from the original game. Sorry if it feels like this came out of nowhere, but the amount of times I've seen people call things remasters or remakes and immediately assume that they're the same as the original with only minor improvements bothers me, especially when it comes to things like these, since the terms have been thrown around as if rebooting a game is the same as remastering it.
