Loved fishing from my float tube, back in the day, when I lived in Arizona. It's much more peaceful fishing from them and they are much more transportable than a kayak. You are right there at water level, in the water, and it doesn't get any better than that. I have since migrated to Hobie Kayaks and I have been on the National Hobie Fishing Team. Since I love fishing for trout and I love to troll for them, having a pedal kayak as opposed to a paddle kayak was a game changer! Great video!!! I plan to be working up in the Eastern Sierras soon, starting right when the Trout Opener starts at the end of April in Bridgeport. I will be working 5 days, then getting 5 days off then alternating until the end of October. :-) Can't wait to start fishing those Eastern Sierra lakes!!! Fish on, Bro!

Congrats on your maiden voyage. Nothing like a tube portable, lightweight, and a blast to use. I have tubed a lot in the Eastern Sierras nothing like it, be careful when the wind comes up or you might be in for a long kick. Tight lines and hopefully see you on the water.

Try using Phenix iron feather braid it’s more sensitive then 2lb I recommend 5lb braid with a 7-8 ft leader

Yea. I use braid for bass fishing and it's hard enough tieing a leader with 15# let a lone a 5# out in the field. I also like my hookset and the little stretch as a buffer of Pline provides.

A perfect location to catch trout. Many years ago, watched two fellas use float tubes to haul in fish after fish at a remote Sierra lake while we struggled from the shore to catch a few. I have a feeling you'll be doing more float tube fishing in the future.

I would go with the 5 gram Pineapple Express, Sunkist and the Blue. I would use a 3/4 sinker on a Carolina rig with flashers and a 2.5- 3 foot leader.
