Hi I'm Charlotte (char they/she) also known as lovemqlec. no not lovemqklec, just lovemqlec. I am a editor, content creator and extremely obsessed with making people laugh (or cry, depends on the video I make). Yeah honestly I get it. TK is like, super traumatized, has self-worth issues, and has his dad's tendency to self-sabotage when things are too good to be true. All things I have in common with the guy, unfortunately, and I think I would feel similarly if I was in his shoes. Imo I agree that a lack of contribution on our end on something as big as home ownership creates this weird power imbalance. It feels like... you wanted to, and could, do this big thing for me, because you have your life together in a time where I don't. What you did was so huge I can't realistically reciprocate it in the near future. Now I owe you, and staying in a house that you bought makes me feel like a dependant. You deserve more than what I can give you. Aaaand then the guilt eats you alive! So like, it's drastic, but I can't fully blame him for freaking out and dipping. Because knowing him, if he stayed he'd have either slowly simmered to a boil until he couldn't stand it, or spent who knows how long agonizing over ways he could pay it back to Carlos in some misguided attempt to make it even.

well tk had financial problems so when carlos bought the apartment tk felt like he didn't have any power to help because the payment was too high. so when carlos went back and made an offer AND put tk on the deed, tk felt carlos was taking all the power in the relationship. this doesn't have aything to do with tk being not appreciative over carlos but he just couldn't accept the fact that someone would do that for him so he panicked and broke up. he didn't feel like he deserved it.
