@@kendon0923 my dude we were introduced to these two shirtless and jumping each other's bones. that's what it was for most of the first season. strongly doubt homophobia has anything to do with it. i myself find it refreshing to see a hot young couple on screen grow their relationship without having to resort to the usual shorthand tactics used by lazy and insecure writers - quick! let's have them kiss or fuck to let our audience know they're happy! now i don't know if the writers of lone star made this intentional but season 2 interactions provide a nice contrast to season 1 where they were basically friends with benefits who were unwilling to fully open up and didn't want to make the relationship too serious - hence the sex scenes, the flirting, the innuendos etc now they're in a serious relationship and more focus is put on the casual intimacy (hugs, touching in non-sexual places) and the emotional intimacy (talking, sharing long looks etc).

also i know you probably didn't mean it in a bad way but it's unfair to compare it to marjan's relationship, especially since her story with salim was under pressure to conclude within one episode, and that kiss wasn't meant to be gratuitous or fan service. it was salim stepping across a line with marjan that she herself had never crossed before, and important to her character. not every scene with one fictional couple has to be a competition with another one
