Tony, thank you for this! This would have taken me years (or never) to understand on my own.

Thank you for this, Tony. i don't think I thanked you for reinstating the Triple Play two versions ago. Thank you. My approach to the TP action takes a little more time, but it works wonderfully. The Separator segment was a good review.

Fabulous technique, Tony. Rather muddy darks plague too many of my images. I can hardly wait to give this a shot. Thanks so much!
@TonyKuyper5 жыл бұрын
This might help, and you can control how much you open up the shadows by which layers you choose to turn on. If your muddy darks are in your prints, you might also want to take a look at the "Fixing dark prints with a Darks-1 luminosity mask" blog: tonykuyper.wordpress.com/2019/01/23/adjusting-print-brightness-with-a-darks-1-luminosity-mask/ This technique works specifically for prints.

Thank you for this. I guess this will replace the final s curves adjustment layer I generally apply to a photo.
@TonyKuyper5 жыл бұрын
Maybe, but you might also try adding this Triple Play technique after your "final curves adjustment." You may get some benefit from both. But you'll have to experiment and see. I'm not sure what your "final curves adjustment" consists of, but the Triple Play technique will mainly work in the shadows and highlights.

for the default 15 light & 20 dark pixel radius - what other kinds of images (or problem images) where you would want to alter the pixel radius?
@TonyKuyper3 жыл бұрын
Outside the defaults is mostly experimental for me, and the effect of different radius settings depends a lot on the image it's being used with. If I'm looking to try something different, an alternative radius is something to possibly experiment with. However, I did that more back in the early days of the Triple Play. Now there are more predictable actions in the the TK7 panel that I prefer to try before experimenting than a different radius in the Triple Play. Other users have their own favorite radius values for Triple Play, so it has to be responsive to their needs. That's the main reason I let users choose a radius value.

I have purchased this TK7 panel..but for the life of me, dont know or dont have links to 'add it to photoshop?..no video tutorials in HOW TO ADD TO PHOTOSHOP???
@TonyKuyper5 жыл бұрын
Michael--All download folders for purchased items come with an enclosed installation PDF. However, I just checked my download server for a purchase of the TK7 panel by "Michael Barber" and there is no such purchase. Please contact me via the contact form on my website to resolve this. I'm sure we can work it out if you provide additional information that would not be appropriate in a public forum. Here's my contact URL: goodlight.us/contact.html
