You hit all the key points. Just got off the phone with my electrical contractor. Even though I have a well, they want to see an agricultural setup to give the permit to pull power. I am officially an avocado tree farmer. I farm 1 tree. Permit approved

I went and bought a 27ft keystone conquest for my wife 2 year old and I. We lived in it for 2 months and I lost my mind bought a 40 foot carriage by cameo. Lived in that for 2 years no issue. It really is the layout. The conquest was 100 square foot about with the same size bathroom bed and living room. My cameo was 15k more than the conquest but totally worth it in design insulation space and bathroom/ kitchen/ living room space.

Always go big if you can afford it. Some don't mind small spaces, I HATED our small RV bathroom. Everything else was fine with us.

We had a 38 foot trailer that had two bedrooms. We were seasonal at a campground so we loved it. We did hate the small bathroom too and the small bed. That was hard so I could never live in it full time with a family of four. We loved going there but loved coming home too. 🤣😅

Great information Andrew. The first thing I purchased for my property was a tow-behind camper to install under my pole barn. I do not live in it but it is where I stay while on the property. My single wide is storage and we are currently talking to builders for our new home. Wish me luck in these trying times. Like you we got a good deal on an older camper....stepping stones my friend.

Good job touching on a lot of important points! As you said the laws vary per state, county, and city. Here you need approved building plans before you are given an address. No temporary above ground holding tanks are allowed. I built my home on 80 acres in the foothills 15 years ago. Now we are considering selling it and RVing (at least part of the time) on our other adjacent 80 acre parcel. I'm getting pretty old and not sure about starting over.new power, water septic as most have become both harder to do and way more expensive than they were then. I think your video will help me in my decisions. Thanks!

You covered things that I have not heard from other commentators. We are setting up our farm to bring in our RV that we have parked in a RV park. We are looking at all of theses things. Water, Electricity and septic. We have a 3 phase electrical service that supplies electrical for a 30 hp water pump that is 600' deep. They want $12,000 to make things more residential like replacing the 30hp pump to a 3hp pump. I put in a 1000 gl holding tank and a 3/4 hp above ground pump to service the RV. That should be more than enough to capture the 400 gallon per minute and soften it down to fill the 48 gl bladder tank with a 40/60 pressure switch. Its difficult to deal with a Florida permit office but with voices like yours that has been there and done that we will be able to get this done. Thx for taking the time to let us know how to do theses things.

Problem for me and my wife is that we won't have an "escape" like y'all talked about. Plus my limit financially and physically for my 1/2 ton pickup is a 27ft bumper pull, since I don't want to pay for a 5th wheel receiver. I also have no plan for how long this might last, or what to do after. I just know my lease is coming to an end quickly (2 months) and I need to get something figured out. I refuse to pay 800+ per month plus bills for a small apartment that won't even let us have our cat. A lot with water, elec, and sewer hookups for 260/month sounds way better.

You go to do what you have to do. Any sort of outdoor space, even a cooking area and picnic table helps. Campers can feel like a coffin to a lot of people if you stay inside them all day and night. Some people it doesn't bother.

Andrew your camper bathroom is a suite compared to ours! 😂 Besides the things you touched base on we had/have to contend with cold weather. That means freezing pipes etc. We ruffed it this winter and kept the camper out all winter. A many a times we would run out of propane in the middle of the night.l and would have to go outside and switch tanks. One other thing you have to make sure you have plenty of propane on hand!! For awhile I had to tow mine 30 miles every couple of weeks to dump the black/gray tanks. Hopefully soon we will be getting our CO. We are still doing finish work! House looks great!
