It's a cliche I know, but "the past was a different time." I know plenty of older people like my Dad and some of his friends who would share games and their rigs, even with relative strangers, sometimes with younger people. It was just normal, like sharing a hobby hoping to get others interested and growing a community. We probably don't see it as much anymore because of several things: stranger danger has probably made people scared to do this, and the internet has moved the communities online. A lot of hobby groups hace gone the way of the dodo since the 90s, and frankly it's sad.

In the 90s when I was 7(?) my dad had a Macintosh for work and a random stack of CD-ROMs that included this and Myst. I had no idea how to finish Full Throttle until he helped me one day. One of the things he pointed out was that a hint to hiding from the cops in the shadows at the gas tower was literally on the back of the CD case. Love this game. Every time I play the remaster it brings me back to a time where a computer was for work or solo video games and that's it. You should post some shorts about it.

This game brings back so many memories. Back in the 90s where I lived owning a PC was a luxury, so I only knew a few people who had one, and they were usually from well off families. So I used to go to my friend/neighbour to play games just like you (although she was my age lol). Full Throttle and GTA 1 were the first 2 games I ever played on her PC. GTA was fun and all, but Full Throttle really stayed with me for the rest of my life. The incredibly cinematic story, the voice acting was god tier, the animation was so unique but absolutely amazing, and the music was SOOOO unbelievably good and was part of the reason I got into playing guitar as a kid (I still play 25+ years later). I would happily watch a Full Throttle animated series if somebody actually made it with the same animation, same quality acting and music.

My cousin got me into Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle. He was in the army and would come visit on his off period at my grandparents and set up his computer. It was the only time i got to play it and I got stuck on the part where you had to get a cat to look like a skunk. I was stuck and had the materials and could never figure out how to get past this part. My cousin was deployed for 4 years and i didn't get to see him this entire time, but i would constantly think about this puzzle. I was sitting in the bath tub 5 or 6 years later and all of a sudden the idea to use the white out on the black cat popped in my mind to make it a skunk and i had to wait till the remaster came out to try it. Still a warm fuzzy feeling about this game and the time i had to wait to beat the game lol.
