I see truth to this song. I wish the older generation would share the culture with our generation openly so we can preserve it for the next. If you are a Hmong brother, I urge you all to learn from the ones that will educate you. Unlike me, a Hmong Mother/daughter, we can't fulfill the duties of a Hmong man. I say this only because one day when my parents pass (family of 7 girls, no boys ) we will have to go outside to help us and it's not until you are in those shoes do you really understand the struggles that come with it if you are a Shaman. Much love and respect LP and TL!

No it's not the truth, it's a sound of judgement,meaning they don't want to take care of you,in this life ,a life without a father is hardship,yet we search for a father,a role model,we ask ourselves is there any hope in the future for my kind,yet the answer is your decision,no one else's,in this present we see uplifting people,we see the down fault of a human being,we shouldn't let that bother us,one day you'll grow to become a fine looking gentleman,but strong as a lion,I just thought I share this with you.

This Song man, makes you think what if your dad wasn't around like what if you were to grow up without a dad since nowadays our newer generation of hmongs are letting go of our culture which brings us to love each other. So i have to thank my dad for being my dad and always trying to make it work out even though he works soo hard just to be able to buy me stuff i envy.

Respect towards this song. I will stand there by my brothers and sisters who lost respect from our elders whether you lost your dad or not. Even if you do something they don't like, but in reality it's nothing wrong or bad. We must rise from our old generation and learn to except that our future is different. We all must understand that if I lend you a hand, all I ask is that you do the same please. How hard is that? Aren't you elders telling us to do so? But why you guys be flip-floping them just because of one thing, and make a big deal. We're all human, we make mistake, we lose someone, nothings right or prefect. If the elders can't have respect for these tiny mishaps, stay strong, stay proud because your pride is bigger than what they think. Respect to all my brother and sister who stays strong.

Reading through the comment section, I feel y'all struggles. I'm lucky, because I still have both my parents, but I do think how my life will be without them and my heart shrinks, because without then, where will I be? I'm a grown man and I know how to carry myself through life, but when it comes to the Hmong tradition, I'm lost.

It would be nice if us, as the younger generation, could take interest in learning the culture and the language. Appreciate the tradition and not hate, learn to perserve it instead of throwing it away. Now a days, some dont even know how to speak hmong and hate the “rules” of our culture instead of learning the meaning or the importance of it.

its the parents that arent speaking hmong to their children. They think its cute to and better to have their babies growing up speaking English. Thats when they're wrong because they will regardless have to learn English. So if more parents can speak only hmong to them at home, they forsure will be fluent in Hmong. They will learn english by going school.
@JackTheLotuz127 жыл бұрын
your right its sad that our generation doesnt have apprecitation for our culture and rules. but some of our rules or ways or even the way hmnog ppl think is outrageous. to hate on someone based on their reputation or wealth shows why we have no place to call home for our ppl. there are things that our elders and us as the next generation can improve but how when its only us who try to change ourselves to satisfy our elders only to have them bash us in and treat us like outcasts? its sad to think that after our generation dont know much when our relatives wont even dare to speak to us. srry im not trying to bash in on your opinion. i got a little emotional because these lyrics are 99% of the same thing i go through even now when it comes to dealing with our elders. its not that we dont have an interest, our parents or realtives dont teach us even when some of us want to learn.
